Sadly with all said, GM really hasn't made good performance cars in a long time. Just very high ended pick ups, and suv's priced out for the average Joe or Jane to afford.

I agree with Car & Driver that it was an engine looking for a car. The 1989 Pace Car Turbo Trans Am was a brief glimpse into what could be. The GN and the GNX were great cars for what they cost and their performance was outstanding. The fact that they were Buicks made them even more interesting. However, the whole bubble and tires never touching pavement just seemed ridiculous. What good is a car if you can’t drive it and enjoy it. Seems to defeat the purpose…

My absolute favorite car ever. The only reason I ever got my Monte Carlo is because I knew I couldn’t afford the Grand National. It’s something about those turbo Buicks

Buick should have recently done the Trans Am when it was being negotiated. They don't even make cars anymore, just SUVs. Coolest car they had was the Regal with a 6 speed manual in like 2011-12 or something. The company is a former shell of itself. Really a shame.
