Those ski trains ran on the opposite side of the lake from the family cottage, up near Montfort QC- great show (when you're 7)

The first two minutes of this show are pure, complete gold. "Gentlemen, some months ago I was contacted by aliens from Uranus ....." And just the look of the board when he says "cross the country in 36 hours!".....

In the end, removing the electric catenary wires and electric locomotives was a Stupid move for class 1 railroads. Why? Because now near the middle of this century, they will have to become Zero Emission, and the only source of power with Zero Emission is Electricity.

This is pretty bad. I had to stop it half way through. The snarling tough guy was probably the worst. If the rest of the series is like this I'm not surprised the series failed.

$450 to travel at an average speed of 80mph for 36 hours when you could spend a fraction of that and be at your destination in four hours by plane. The engineering crew on the train outnumbers the passengers. Then on top of that they have a gaggle of stewardesses, and porters. Half of the train would be crews quarters. Such a goofy premise for a show.

In the 70’s, everyone, employees and customers, drank in excess. Even when your friend is being drowned, you drank.

Since I'm from Germany, I've never heard of this series or the train before. I found out about it today and am happy to be able to watch the first episode in full here. Thanks for uploading. I really like this 70s vibe. It's a shame that they made a few mistakes, like the train suddenly running on standard gauge track instead of broad gauge. It was probably too complicated in some places. I also wonder how the train goes back, since the front locomotive is probably only on one side. The train would probably need a reversing loop. I'm excited to see more episodes if I can find them here.

Maybe it was like the Swiss trains, where the wheels can switch from narrow to normal gauge traffic (fun to watch) (Or not)
