There is a safety problem with the low noise cap. The low noise cap can cause overheating which will back up into the tank and cause flaming gas to spray out the pressure relief in the cap. If the pressure relief fails, the tank can explode. Take care.

Used my 8R for two decades and even burned through the pot supports lol Still have it and bought another a few years ago. Been using a Trangia for the last 8 years, super quite. Yesterday i found a used 123R and i just had to buy it. It's the most adventurous romantic looking stove.

Why would you tip your van back when the sump plug is at the front, you need this level to drain you oil correctly. also you only need a correct socket and a ratchet to remove the oil filter there is no need for extension bars its easy with just a 36 or 32 mm socket and ratchet. If you remove the Brake fluid res its really easy.

@@emilsilenhag you men White gas, I assume?. These dont run on kerosene/paraffin ;) I have just bought an ole Svea 123. Struggelig a bit with jets that give a bit too rich fuel blend and yellow flame tips. The jets produced in portugal is very uneven in quality.

Most imortant thing to remember about this model is: NEVER pump it with the control wheel on. Always leave it off when not in use or the soft gasket WILL be destroyed!

Have got the 8R Hunter. Bought new 45 years ago and still in regular use. A trusty, reliable old 'tractor' as the shop assistant in the local Outdoor Shop called it. Went in Monday to order a replacement Gasket / Seal for the Tank Cap. The first .. not bad for 45 years. The only other maintenance / repair required was replacing the Graphite Seal in the Burner Control Valve Stuffing Box approx 10 years ago. Love this Stove 👍😊.

Marius Guttelvik Jeg kjøper SKF komponenter på eurodel.no Tast in reg.nr. velg motordeler, deretter drivremmer og så flexibel koblingsmuffe. Der finner du fler produsenter/priser å velge mellom. Jeg velger som sagt vanligvis SKF, men andre premium-merker er sikkert bra de også. Nye bolter har jeg kjøpt på møller bil. Men folk flest bruker bare samme bolter om igjen...

Казалось бы, вещь, простая. Ломаться нечему. Минимум подвижных деталей. Но! Сколько всяких мелочей!.Для нормальной работы, приносящей радость, а не беспокойство. Жиклёр, должен быть нужного диаметра. и смотреть прямо. Верхний "самолётик" "бдюдце", или "пятачок"... Строго позиционирован по высоте, и по центру струи... Стартовый разогрев, так же не мало важен, для последующей работы. Качество топлива, это отдельный разговор.

Good video! I'm about to do this with the same engine in NZ. At video time 4:50 you say "remove generator and ac-compressor". At time 5:10 you insert the freewheel removal tool with the generator and ac-compressor still mounted on the engine, but the flexible couplings are removed. How are the flexible couplings removed with the gen and compressor still on the engine? Is this possible by just loosening the mounting bolts?

Ant C The ac compressor is hanging to the side, hoses still attached so that the system still is pressurized, no need for draining. The generator is also loose, detached from the engine, but so hard to get out. Therefor remains inside the engine bay...

Ant C I lay them (ac-compressor + generator) down on the subframe, then undo the freewheel. Little bit of anti seize on the threaded shaft before new freewheel is threaded on. Tighten freewheel. The clean mounting surface and make sure the centering sleevs are there (two for the generator and two for the ac compressor). Then new rubber coupling and put it back on the engine...

Hi Emil, one more question. I've sourced the 33 spline tool to fit the freewheel. Is the other part of the tool just a long reach T50 Torx (6 spline), or is it a special 12 spline tool to hold the alternator shaft? Thanks.

Isn't this the wrong oil for 2006 AXE engine? As far as I know AXE engines don't have DPF and there fore 5007.00 is wrong oil and you should have used 506.01 which prevents premature camshaft wear.

Yes, it is the wrong oil for that engine. Nicely spotted. I’ve forgotten that I had that video on KZbin. I think I have a shorter version that say to use correct specification according to the owners manual or something. That said, I still use 507 and now driven over 100 000 km. No damage engine so far. I’ve used the same oil now for 5 years and approximately 10 oil changes. But I also add Redline Break inn additive, which is zddp additiv. I don’t know if this is good for my engine, but I will find out...

@@emilsilenhag It's been researched that the 507.00 oil has better specs than 506.01 but never ending debate is still going on that you should only use 506.01 AXD/AXE engines without DPF, because it has some additive to coat the camshaft and tappet for long term wear protection. I'm not expert and don't know id this is true. Fact is that 2007 onward the newer engines with DPF have different camshaft and are not so prone to wear as in the older engines.

anidabi naak Agree again. If I could do it over again I would have chosen 506.01. I always use that oil when doing oil changes on friends cars. But for my car, I go with the 507 + Redline Break inn additive, just for the fun of it, to se if it works/how long the cam, tappets etc will last...
