is making storys and journaling the same??
@ChoosingBliss
@ChoosingBliss 3 күн бұрын
@@JimmyNeutron-fj5gn Storytelling and journaling have their similarities, but they're not exactly the same. Journaling is often a personal reflection or a record of daily experiences, thoughts, and feelings, while storytelling involves crafting a narrative, which can be fictional or based on real events. Both can be creative outlets, but they serve different purposes and can have different structures

Hi Marissa, I really love watching your videos. I find it so relaxing. Your voice is very calming. It's been a turbulent 4 months for me. My mum died suddenly in April and I didn't deal with the loss very well. I loved her but she was very dominant and controlling and her love for me was conditional on whether or not I did what she wanted. Then a few months ago I found out that I'm autistic (I'm 59 yrs old!) so my free time has been used up in studying personality types (narcissism) and neurodiversity (Asperger's Syndrome). But I feel like I'm beginning to turn a corner now. Yesterday evening I watching a watercolour tutorial for the first time in months (I had put my paints away because I just wasn't using them). The watercolour tutorial has sparked creativity in me to get my paints out and a force myself to at least make a start of painting something. Also yesterday, I reconnected with a friend of mine who is neurodiverse like me and she's invited me to stay with her in Amsterdam! I'm really looking forward to it because she is the only person I know who is not neurotypical. It will be nice to be able to talk to someone on the same wavelength as me. So, I now have a reason to think about Travel Journaling again and it was your content that I chose to watch for inspiration. You are a very special person. Well done for all the hard work you put into producing these videos. I really appreciate it. X

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your journey with me. I'm deeply sorry for the loss of your mum and the challenges you've faced over the past few months. It's incredibly brave of you to open up about your experiences, and I'm glad to hear that you're beginning to find your way forward. It warms my heart to know that my videos have brought you some comfort during this time. Creativity can be such a powerful tool for healing, and I'm happy that you're reconnecting with your passion for painting. Your upcoming trip to Amsterdam sounds like a wonderful opportunity to connect with someone who truly understands and shares your experiences. I hope it brings you the joy and companionship you deserve. I'm honored that my content has inspired you to think about travel journaling again. Remember, every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory. Wishing you all the best on your creative journey and your time with your friend. You have so much strength and resilience, and I'm grateful to have you in this community. Take care always ❤️

How do you find the TIME for your journal, and how much (average) time daily? What about the large variety of supplies needed? As retirees living the RV life, we are per force, minimalists in everything; but we enjoy the travel, the exploring of new places, taking photos, buying local postcards and also documenting our eperiences - this being the reason for the desire to get back into journaling. I'd like to know HOW you would address a creative journaling process & product needs of someone with VERY limited space.
@ChoosingBliss
@ChoosingBliss 15 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your insightful question! When it comes to finding time for creative journaling, I try to dedicate about 15-30 minutes daily, but the key is flexibility. Some days, even just a few minutes to jot down thoughts is enough. It’s really about making the process enjoyable rather than time-consuming. As for the variety of supplies, you don’t need a lot to start! Since you’re living an RV life with limited space, you can focus on portable and multi-use items like a small journal, a few pens or colored markers. Incorporating things you collect during your travels-like postcards, ticket stubs, or small found ephemera-can add a lot of personality without taking up much.

Perhaps, many years ago, I’d have welcomed a group tour filled with strangers, learning, and exploring but flexibility is key for me now. As you're laying out the decor for pages, I would love to hear experiences and stories of the trip, how this theme has particular significance for you, what new things you learned, etc. I think seeing the visual (perhaps without the step by step explanation) plus hearing the tales will be satisfying for our senses. As for a souvenir, I once watched a local play and caught one of the props (an envelope that one of the characters tossed in the air) and it landed on my lap because I was sitting close to the stage. I wrote about the play and of course the envelope was a great memory.
