ONG 12 years old video really helped me 2023, no other videos online could! had to write this. I acidently pressed the release mechanism on this towbar and could not reset it and fit back on the Q7. I did not realise by pulling the round knob out and twisting would reset this release mechanism. might do a video to rest the release mechanism on older Q7 towbars and credit this.

Hi your video as are very helpful. I’ve got one like this on my Toyota rav 4 but there’s no key or barrel. Just the two levers. I’ve never used a detachable before but I’m guessing that’s what it’s supposed to look like? It’s a gold coloured tow bar with a silver coloured 1 and 2 lever.

Found could not fit until I locked open first by turning side know clockwise and pulling out so it locked out. Then, fit as in video and release knob if didn't automatically and lock. Otherwise great video

Useless video, doesn't show the position before fitting of the knob. Imagine this bunch trying to give instructions for making a cup of tea, a&e here we come.

I agree with all you have said, summary would be........great all rounder, but not adaptable for real offroading......... I wouldn't buy it as my car is better on road and my modified old defender is better off road. Also even the combined cost of the two are cheaper than the one new defender.......!! But probably my biggest reason is.........wait for it........its not British its built in Eastern Europe not Solihull, no UK workers are employed in building this car. In these times of Brexit etc I now feel even more strongly about buying British and supporting our workers....RW

The key on the detachable towbar with the octagonal turning handle is a joke. After a few months on the car it is impossible to take the red key out! Rubbish!
