I love your tutorial 🥰 I’m wondering why there were no decrease rolls…?? My hat was wide instead of fitting…Please explain 🙌🏾 I used Red Heart 4 yarn…

Can anyone explain why my beanie was wide or IF I should’ve did a decrease row…?? Although I followed along..

Oh wow!!! You break it down so simply, showing that it is very beginner-friendly and your voice is very soothing and calming!!! I subbed,, liked, and rang the bell!!! My next move is to see if you have any kind of glove and/or mittens!!! If you don't have one yet, I recommend you do one for them also!! I know you would break it all down for us and make it simple also!!!

If I'm using a thicker yarn, would it be wiser to do three in the puff stitch rather than five?

Help! Mine does not lay flat!! I’m doing multiples of 12 and double with a 4.5mm hook. It fits fine but it’s not flat
@LFloyd4343 ай бұрын
Same! Mine is pointy. Idk what I did wrong
@LFloyd4343 ай бұрын
I found out how to fix it. If it’s wavy then you have too many stitches in the first round. If it’s pointy or dome shaped, you don’t have enough stitches in the first round. Hope this helps.

You didn’t account for negative ease. That’s a game changer and the key measurement for a crocheted hat.
@ernestzeus8302Ай бұрын
Doesn't negative ease depend on the type of fabric/yarn used? As in how stretchy it is? Trying to learn as much as possible so your comment has got me googleing lol

Is this why my beanie was wide & not fitted…?? I feel like there should’ve been decrease rows…PLEASE explain further 😢

On the ones that go 7.25 to 7.5 do you leave it right in between ? Or does it matter if it’s closer to one measurement?

Do you have any information on ribbing for the hats? I find a lot of tutorials work bottom up and I do not like it. What length of ribbing for each hat and is it deducted from the hat length?

Why did she only put 6 stitches n MR? Instead of 10 or 12?
@loopedandknotted32564 ай бұрын
@donnathompson6694 because I was using a chunky yarn. You can start with as many as you want, just continue to work increase rows until you reach the desired diameter.

I started MR 12 DC after 3rd row, 36 dc, and 4 1/2 in. Another one 10 DC in MR. 3rd round 30 DC same measurement. Confused because 6 stitches can influence the size of the hat??
@rebeccahunter50034 ай бұрын
I think it doesn't matter, because you keep increasing until the width of the crown (according to the measurements she gave) :)

So for teen/ small adult would be around 11 years old right? That would be 21' circumference and 6.5' to 7' for crown correct?
@loopedandknotted3256 Жыл бұрын
Yes these are the measurements for a teen beanie. The best way to know is to measure the head circumference of the person as everyone is different.

How do you know how many stitches to start with in your magic circle, i want to make a beanie for my 18 month old so im not too sure x
@loopedandknotted3256 Жыл бұрын
It doesn't really matter how many stitches you start with using this technique because you are increasing in each row until the crown measures the right length. That being said I usually start with 6 stitches, just because I like an even number in the first row.
@emilyrose531310 ай бұрын
@loopedandknotted3256 beginning # of stitches will matter cause the more stitches you start with, the bigger stitch count it will have from the increases. Ex: if I start with 10 hdc 5mm & #4 yarn and continue in sequenced increases until 5in" (crown), I'll have (72 hdc). That would be a big hat for a 3-6month old, due to all the increases. The reason why it will always measure the same regardless of start # stitches is because the height of the hdc will remain the same, but the circumference of the hat truly depends on # of stitches. 🤷♀️
