A Schindler 3300 is a bit underspecced for a shopping mall. A 5500 would be more appropriate.
@idl3k_elev6 сағат бұрын
Depends on the size of the mall and the amount of traffic; IMO a 3300 is still suitable for a small-medium sized mall with low to moderate traffic. This particular installation is okay since it only serves two floors and there aren't many people using it given how well secluded its position.

Any signs of replacement? Since the majority of the elevators are over 30 years old.

So far not yet, though a few elevators have already been refurbished since 2020, like the ones in Suntec Tower Five.

Those new KDS fixtures look very nice! Kone have indeed done it well with their new DX Class lifts. Normally on the Asian side of the water their lifts used to look very bland and generic.

Europa 2000s tend to start and stop quite harshly. Gives it character; it's a very nice lift regardless.
@idl3k_elev3 күн бұрын
Because Europa 2000 uses 2-speed AC leveling without VF drive.
@noblenumbat3 күн бұрын
@idl3k_elev I've seen some Europas which don't do so; I think they have a VF drive. I've seen in an old brochure that Europa 2000 had VFD as an option. Those with VFD go 1.75 m/s as opposed to 1 for AC/2.
@idl3k_elev2 күн бұрын
Then it's similar to 2000 E, which was also offered with a VF drive as an option. I think Europa 2000's cousin, the Europa 2001, might also use VF drive.
@noblenumbat2 күн бұрын
@@idl3k_elev I think 2000E with VFD were called 2000 OVF. I read it in an old Otis 2000E brochure. There's also another model called 2000 LSVF but I don't know what LSVF means. It seems mainly to be in European countries (notably Spain, Portugal and its related territories), but I have also seen a couple over in the Middle East.
@idl3k_elev2 күн бұрын
OVF is just the name of the VF drive (Otis Variable Frequency) used on 2000 E and VF and has nothing to do with the model name, that's what I read on the old Spanish OTIS website. I'm aware of the 2000 LSVF but there's very little information about it on the internet so I don't know much about it. They seem to be quite rare overall.

I am not sure this is GPS-II. It could also be GPS. Unless capacity and/or speed is greater than 1350 kg or 1.75 m/s, respectively, it cannot be confirmed if the lift is a GPS-II.

It's GPS-II according to the reference list on Uniheis's website which have sadly been removed.

@idl3k_elev11 күн бұрын
Anyone can ask for a permission to the building management, and it's up to them if they allow you to film or not. Normally I don't ask permission to film since it would be a waste of time, unless it is really needed due to certain reasons.
