Having watched some more, it would definitely help you to make use of exploration activities. I see you keep fishing for things "How close are you grtting to the boat to toss the mitflit in? Do you examine this room or just give it a cursory glance?" Its clear you're fishing for then to interact with everything, but if you are using those activities, it already sets the narrative that they are doing that. Also don't forget that creatures should be making rolls against the players DC. For example, Tangletop should have rolled against the players DC to lie. You don't need to wait for players to call for a roll. I feel like this is an old 5e carry over but with the information the players will NEED in this adventure path it's better to play RAW. Because remember, the people who designed this game are the ones who made the adventure and they did so with the expectation that you will run it RAW.

I know you're many sessions ahead now and this was months ago but treat wounds doesn't have a lower DC, it is still 15 in the remaster. Aid doesn't change the DC either, if a player uses aid they have to make the check the player will make, and depending on their success it gives them a circumstance bonus, or penalty if they crit fail. The DC is still 15 though.

I find with pathfinder 2e, with how complicated things can be it’s better to just be straight forward in answers than cryptic. I tend to try to be cryptic because I want there to be mystery but I also find that while that would work in 5e, since this needs specifics I just give them the full info.

Yeah I definitely learned that lesson with this encounter since haunt disable requirements seem to be pretty darn specific. I can also probably afford to offer a little more leeway with that too.

Some rules corrections (which by now you may have realized): People who have negative healing like Jones Bones do not take damage from healing, they just aren't healed by it. Grapple doesn't use your unarmed attack traits, so it would be -0, -5, -10 And 3 action heal does the same amount of healing as the one action heal, the two action heal is the only one that does more. Great session though 👌

Thank you and hope it stays fun! Also 2 things: 1. For the negative healing I believe you’re correct when it comes to something like a healing potion for the no effect instead of damage so thank you for reminding me of that, but at least for the heal spell, it does specify vitality damage if the target is undead which is why we were worried about him getting caught in those 3 action heals. 2. There’s a sidebar on page 234 on player core on athletics actions such as grapple with the attack trait. Where it says “Since these actions use your free hand, you use the traits for your fist attack to determine the multiple attack penalty, so your fist’s agile trait applies. Therefore, you take a -4 penalty if the action is your second attack of the turn, or a -8 if it’s the third.”

Roll20 automatically rolls twice, as if to roll with advantage or disadvantage. If we're doing a straight roll (which is most of the time), we'll just ignore the second number

Question for either the channel or anyone here running this campaign: Did you start your party at level 1 or level 2? I am going to be running this soon and see lots of people online recommending starting at level 2, as the first encounter, plus the cave can easily kill a level 1 party with a few unfortunate rolls.

We started at level 1, and the cave certainly was a challenge for us. It's all personal preference - starting from level 1 can be easier for new players to grasp and can feel more rewarding, but if you'd rather be safe, level 2 is also a totally viable option. You can always add a low level magical item or shuffle some NPCs around if you're feeling nervous

I've played tonnes of D&D, just never DM'd, and will be playing with unknowns on Roll20, so will perhaps have to gauge based on how new they are (looking for newer players in general), and maybe slip a health potion or two in, or level 2 if I feel they need it. I'll probably end up playing it safer than necessary due to not wanting added stress of dealing with a TPK on my first DM session

hey sorry about that. youtube auto populates ads. I've gone through some episodes and deleted a bunch but we have so many uploads i havent been able to do it for all :(. The weird part is it doesnt do this with every upload just random ones so I never know which ones are overloaded. I love listening to this. There's already so much nostalgia from when I played this module with friends on discord. I played a 7'8 half orc(the other half was Goliath) barbarian named "Ori". She has an owlbear best friend she called "Chunky". They had a very satisfying story, but i do miss playing her. She was very fun to rp as and to do combat with. I can't wait to see how things might play out differently in this campaign.

Our of curiosity, how did Gokel get access to a bird animal companion? I don't know of any features that give knolls or barbarians those. Have I missed something? Are you using free archetype? Or is it something you guys allowed as a houserule?

@@gustavohc18 A pet works like a worse familiar though, if I am not mistaken his bird functions like an animal companion. Pretty sure I remember it attacking at some points. Technically "COmmand and Animal" also has the Concentrate tag so technically you couldn't even command it while raging.

Hey empty! I let Gokell do a little switcheroo and let him take the beast master archetype at lvl 1 in lieu of his lvl 1 barbarian feat and then had him pick a lvl 1 barb feat at lvl 2. I didn’t figure it would mess with things too much just switching when he got them and it made more sense for his character to already have it instead of randomly finding it at level 2.

@@meyore I see. Jup, I think thats an awesome call. I want to note that technically since Command an Animal has the Concentrate tag you can't do it while raging I think, but I also think that its completely fair to house-rule that in that particular case to allow the character concept to work. The first rule in the rule-book is literally that rules can be broken if they are in the way of fun.

As you said since it makes sense for the character, I think we’ll just homerule that beast master barbarian combo adds the rage trait to command an animal to tie everything up in a neat little bow.

I am working on catching up to the current episodes, but here are some suggestions that might help your game experience a bit better. If you go into the *players Token* properties and select the "Resources" tab, in the "Display Bars" dropdown select "Always for Everyone" then click the "Update Token" button. This will make it so players can always see the health bar for each other. If you don't already have them, there are 2 very useful modules called "PF2e Workbench" and "PF2e Toolbelt" they have many QOL features that make the game much easier to run. In "PF2e Workbench" configuration click the "Manage Reminders Settings" button. In the window that pops up about halfway down the page is a check box for "Enable Hero Point handler" verify that it is checked. This will popup a small window every 60 minutes that lets the GM assign a hero point to a player from a list (I will usually use a die roll to pick the player) If you have any questions for me, the best way to communicate with me is through my Discord channel, link is in almost all of my videos on my channel. Thanks for the recs! I have the hp bars set to display on mouse hover since having them display 24/7 looks a little ugly in my opinion. I do have pf2e workbench, but have been on the fence on if I needed pf2e toolbelt. Thanks for the insight though!
