Thank you for posting these recordings. Let's hope it brings this great, yet underrated singer to the attention of a new audience. I have a question, when was Cliff Edwards show on the radio ?

Between 1932 and 1947 or thereabouts, but it wasn't a single continuous run. He started on CBS and moved to other networks later. The format varied too, generally about 15 minutes of song and a few chatty anecdotes and links, with later shows being put together by local stations from supplied discs of new recordings. Some DJs just used them as a source of songs to play, rather than as part of a Cliff-focussed show. He had a TV show too, about which I know fairly little.

I can't think of anyone who sang this better and it's been sung by some of the greats.

I have gained such an appreciation of Cliff Edwards over just these past couple of years. What a talent !
@JonHancockUKАй бұрын
Absolutely. An innate musicality, unique ukulele style and that three octave range. Few performers could switch so convincingly between novelty numbers and emotional crooning.

Thank you for posting this obscure old recording. It sounded like Cliff Edwards - could you include "liner notes" on future posts? Info, if available, makes the experience greater-yowza! You may enjoy the five minute bio on You Tube: The Cliff Edwards Story (Ukulele Ike) - A truly great talent & an amazing life story now all but forgotten. . . Anyway, am wishing you Good Fortune and hope to see more - that is, hear more from you. Peace.

Thank you for commenting; I'm delighted that you enjoyed the song. I only have limited information for this material, but the artist is listed alongside the title (it is indeed Cliff Edwards) and the composers and year are in the description. Where possible I note whether it was a recording made for one of Cliff's radio shows etc.
