Wouldn’t be a bad AP if it had a 10G uplink port. I’m still rocking the AmpliFi Alien router the best just wish they would update it with 10G ports and WiFi7. I’d buy it no matter the cost.

Good information. The speaking is, at times, difficult to follow since the presenter tends to talk in a low voice combined with quick pronunciation of syllables. Better articulation and slowing down would be help. Some slides need further explanation since the speaker seems to assume the audience understands everything on the slide (for example, the slide showing interference, throughput, and resilience is unclear; I think the presenter intends to say interference decreases with narrower channels, throughput increases with wider channels, and resilience increases with narrower channels, but this needs to be explained since it is ambiguous and not apparent without mulling over it).

Great video! Using Site Magic, I can not seem to map a share from one site to another. Are there any firewall rules I need to setup?

I keep wondering whether a dedicated management network makes sense or not. You also seem to be more in the camp of those who also use the default network as a management network.
@LeaderAcademyAUАй бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment! You are 100% correct that having a dedicated management network is not always required. We recommend it just for the added flexibility. Enabling isolation, firewall rules, ACL's and blocking measures on the management network could have adverse effects local device connectivity (eg: AP to Cloud Gateway), but these features are often required on a "client" network. By separating them, we can ensure the "device-to-controller" connectivity does not get interrupted by changes meant to impact client devices. It also allows us to block clients from accessing the AP's, Switches etc directly.

*Error on LAG Group Descriptions - LAG groups do not double throughput - it simply provides multiple paths, each at their max respective throughput. 2x 10Gbps ports in LAG will not yield 20Gbps - it will yield 2x 10Gbps.

Excellent video! Thanks for posting it. But it brings up a couple of questions: (1) So what's the use case (i.e., pros/cons) for a UXG + UCKG2(+) versus an integrated UCG? (2) Not much conversation these days around Unifi Hosting. Is this a dead-end tool, now that Site Manager is available?

I noticed that in the newerk application is a toggle to isolate an network and this does the same except for the gateway intself , downside is that you can not review the builtin firewall rules or the rules that are made by selecting options like the one i mentioned, is there a way via CLI to see the builtin rules , just for viewing or learnig purposes

Good video , i practived with trafic rules because UBNT does like it that way, but then you can stil ping te gateways and i restriced acces to the gateway but that rule does not work , other people have the same issue and on did report this to UBNT not to be working as expected , but i get the meaning of the firewal rules but have to practice with it on my own UDM , need to isolate at a client the vlans and the gateway and that is by firewall rules as you showed , wil look at the video that teaches the firewall , still need to practice a little bit with this

Possible to setup local DNS records? I want to access resources from Site A to Site B without inputting the IP address at site B, but instead, accessing by device name, however Site A has no DNS records for the subnet at Site B....access works fine by IP which is AWESOME! But being able to manually create a few DNS pointers so I can type the name instead of the IP would be great!

The video was extremely useful, thank you very much. I created the guest network as described, but I can't connect to it, I don't get an IP address. How to configure the DHCP server? Or on a WAN, only one DHCP server is possible, but then how do I set up the Guest network to get an IP address?

Old video now but still has same limitations. Good for cameras and office spaces that have limited cabling to space (one cable to run a PC, printer, IP Phone and anything else) BUT..... Yes, there is BUT: Don't use these for multiple WAP's when using bloody meshing. These switches have no STP/RSTP.

Shouldn't the 'All Private IP's' group at 29:57 have a subnet of /16 since the third octet needs to change? I thought with /24 you would need to list each network individually

It;s in the settings of a WIFI network . devices must support 802.11r protocol for it to work., is you have good coverage with wifi and it's just data then you will not notice this , for example VOIP can benefit from this but if the coverage is good then you have no problems
