The magma camo felt like such an achievement, and I would put it on all of my guns just to show off that I had it. And yet strangely, I never tried to get the mastery camos

A 14 day lackluster event full of filler content. MWIII events were great and they should have built on that.

It's why cosmetics are the primary motivation for prestiging, and why MWIII's functional unlocks were all weekly challenges rather than mandatory XP grinds. If the player is forced to grind to for tangible goods, they feel forced to play, but if they're given a reasonable amount of time, and the grind is for optional unlocks that make them stand out, it keeps them playing longer.

Thanks to the new weapons from new updates, I unlocked dark matter camo without having to camo grind melee weapons 😂 Started playing COD again for the first time in 2 years (since MW2 2022), and after camo grinding in BO6, wow.... Now I know why I skipped MW3 (2023)
