@NightmarishAngel413 I have a lot of his commands bound to my hotas. Makes it much easier to lock targets, switch TID ranges, switch between TWS and RWS etc. Oh, and when I do pull up the Jester Menu, I use the shortcuts instead of the head tracking to choose the options. I find it's more consistent and quicker.

It was a while ago when I beat him, but I had spent a lot of time crafting armor and weapons early on, so I had relatively good gear. I had Bowman set to only use Poison Pellets, Reina focuses on healing. I don't remember what Claude was, but I think Mirror Slice though the problem with Mirror Slice is that the animation is very long. Dias had that diving move and his version of Mirror Slice. That's about all I remember.

It's my first round with this series, and completing all major titles, I think Cloud is meant to genuinely love Aerith, and her him. AND, he and Tifa are also meant to genuinely love each other. All this naïveté around vehemently supporting a relationship versus another often clouds attention to the narrative itself. The focus should be on Aerith's fate and her sacrifice, and how our characters respond to that---and how they use that to stop Sephiroth. After all, why is the progeny of Jesus shunned in Christian faith? To further evaluate, the anthology always represents the complex ideas that love brings, all (eight) types. There are definitely meant to be certain 'canon' paths that further explore this as it relates to the narrative, but they also explore both relationships. And they should not take away from the 'open' choices the developers allow the player to make. Those 'open' choices give us the option to experience the story in a way that is most impactful to us.

I agree. Canonical I believe at this point in the story, he "loves" Aerith. Narratively speaking, FF7's theme is "loss". Having Cloud love Aerith drives that theme a lot stronger than having him love Tifa more. (This coming from someone who actually prefer Tifa over Aerith). When watching the interactions between Cloud and Aerith at the beginning of chapter 14, it is not as strong a scene if in the background you're thinking that he love Tifa more. It makes Aerith look desperate and to me a bit out of character. She seems like someone who would respect Cloud's choice on who he loves, and Aerith is someone who would be able to tell as she seems to be able to read him quite well. All in all I think he loves Aerith more at this point of the story so I think the Canon choice for this part is Aerith.

@xxlyn505 only 1 of the date scenes happen. So if he went with Aerith, then the kiss never happened. Also, from my understanding, in Japanese culture, the way Cloud and Aerith clasp hands is pretty much equivalent to a kiss. You notice that they clasp hands in the same way after beating Sephiroth. Anyway, my take on this is that Cloud, in his broken incomplete state, thinks he loves Aerith, but after he is repaired, he realizes he loves Tifa more.

Aerith is Rosa in 4/6 plays - Aerith is Rosa in the credits - Aerith makes the most sense narratively - Aerith’s date has been the canon / default date since 1997

this is a huge foreshadowing. i guess we will either get the goddess blessing (holy lifestream) wish of saving aerith or be consumed with rage turn into sephiroth. in the end one timeline shows the lifestream flowing to revolve around cloud sword to deflect sephiroth blow, so i guess the goddes granted her blessing. that means the other timeline with cloud seeing a ghost he will be consumed into a puppet, i guess in the end it will be cloud vs consumed jenova cloud.

Thank you for putting this together. I now see the full picture, and have confidence that these two will unite in the third game. "What awaits you at journey's end, I wonder?" The game ends with the message: "No Promises" (the contents of Aerith's song) "-await at journey's end." That and all the other parallels... it feels like a promise to us.

The ending shows how fucked cloud is in the head, and just making his eventual breakdown at the northern crater that much more torturous, aerith never wants cloud to go after sephiroth as she always says to him "leave sephiroth to me" he doesn't tell the rest about the black materia, Barrett on the edge of almost not trusting him and tifa looks destroyed in how cloud has been reacting

Aerith is default Rosa in every other date besides Tifa and Yuffie. Rosa holds her staf, and has Aerith's mannerism. It was literally written for Aerith.

I dnt think so 'Tifa as Rosa she looks awkward and that dress doesn't suits her Big bulk body... while AERITH shes embodied the real Rosa even the acting the body, her vocals perfect for her Prince Alfred.. I hate to disappoint those rooting for Cloud as Alphreid but this screams Zack and Aerith. The theatrics and the actual lines fits their story a lot more than any Cloud ships. Even Cloud's poor acting skills is proof of this. It wasn't just the other girls who are out of place in the play, but Cloud himself as well.

The dress is white though??? And the others looked swallowed by the outfit. It's clear the Rosa outfit is meant for Tifa as a balance between Yuffie's dance costume and that of Aerith's singing gown.
