I was there. Going home on a red double-decker bus in the rain on a freezing cold Manchester afternoon I saw the Apollo marquee that said Tina Turner in concert tonight. I jumped off the bus, bought two tickets, called my girlfriend from the phone box and told her to get tarted up - we’re going out tonight. Amazing show 2nd row centre.

Man I just wish I was old enough at that time n aware of the Great Patti Labelle I didn’t realize that angel til about 5 years ago😢😢 but I’ve been binge watching her performances on here since and there’s ALOT. ppl… way more than u think on here from wayyy back on vhs in black n white it’s a rabbit hole thank u YT😂trust me I know! I-remember the nostalgia of stuff like this from a kid Those times were literally the beginning u don’t see stuff like this anymore n I just wish those times stayed that way in regards of the joy , oh n I do not like that oxygen lady clearly an actress n yea it all was planned everything on tv is and was whether they had a script or not it was planned 🙄

My Dad, who is a white man, he grew up in a black neighborhood when he was a kid. Black people would say to him, "You must be poor to live here. This was in the 1950'. My dad was 6ft 3ins, & 155 pounds. By the time he was 16 yrs old. Both his parents died 3 weeks from each other. This left him homeless. At first He did have a few friends who had wonderful parents & and told him he could say for 3 or 4 days. You know that saying it takes a village to raise a child. Well, my dad was raised by a village. My dad still had his after-school work. Then, he would go down in the subway to sing for money. Even though a room at YM.C.A was learned not to be safe. He knew that couldn't count surf for much longer. These were friends who had anywhere from five to 10 brothers & sisters. The room in the y m c a was basically one small bedroom. He just needed a place to store one double bag of clothes. Where he could take a shower and lay his head down that. Sometimes, when he felt lonely, He
