Sad, powerful, and tragic, in my opinion. He needed to draw a line in the dirt somewhere. I am glad we can learn from his adventure and mistakes. We all go through life learning and making mistakes. I get why he through a promising career and grad school away. Find life as it is meant to be lived. He should have listened to the mentors he associated with along the way, though. Still, he lived a very full life. I am glad to read the book and to have seen the film many years ago. The soundtrack is just dynamite. IT reminds me of Dave Matthews solo album from around the same time. Both were favorites of the time. Sean Penn knows how to select stories of interest. His Secret Life of Walter Mitty was a gem.

Em 51 anos nunca vi um trecho tão melancólico como esse. Pois em nossas vidas tudo ficará perdido também após o último suspiro. Em pouquíssimo tempo nem lembranças terão de nós. E ainda tem alguns que se acham mais ricos ou importantes. Tolos e fúteis.

I watched the movie many times. It still makes me cry. My wife and I went to north Idaho. It was like his journey. I lived in a log cabin. A real log cabin built from the bottom up. In the old way. Logs from the land.

No Chuva Negra ele fez milagre com o roteiro, pois os críticos disseram na época que o livro no qual ele se baseia é muito ruim, mas ainda assim dirigiu uma produção memorável.

Rutger Hauer estava iluminando e bastante inspirado e umas das frases mais emblemáticas da história do cinema! Me tocou muito e senti o seu desespero de viver e sabendo que iria morrer. O Roy quis mostrar seu lado oprimido. A reflexão da frase, que ele viu durante esse tempo de “REPLICANTE” que pouco tempo de existência ele conseguiu ver, maravilhas do mundo mesmo coisas são simples a olhar humano. Mas para ele, foi algo maravilhoso e esplendor! Que ele não viria mais essa imagem e guardaria esse momento como lágrimas na chuva!

Ele viu coisas apoiando a porcaria do Greenpeace que vem no meu país dizer que nós como brasileiros não podemos usar nossos recursos. Do contrário, seus mestres que os patrocinam não poderiam nos expoliar. O filme do Mel Gibson: "Muito além da escuridão " mostra muito mais profundidade.

Also when the truck driver reluctantly gave him a lift to the end of the road. And he ended up giving him his boots. Deep down that driver knew the kid and those boots were never coming back, but those boots would give him a few more days.
