Greetings from NYC. We've been to Florida enough to remember the people there were wonderful to us. Florida has always been resilient and has witnessed setbacks and price fluctuations. The residents were never quitters and will fight this out together. Good luck and God bless. People will always need a place to live. It's our plans to retire at 65-70 and find a nice place there. And I'll buy everyone breakfast!

Insurance companies will abandon large sections of the costal regions in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, etc.. Guess what, the land isn't worth 850K, because you will not be able to get flood insurance and home owners insurance in these markets, so the land isn't worth squat to many people. You have to have someone with sufficient resources to build on a site, with the knowledge that the structure could be destroyed tomorrow or next season, and the money used to build the structure is a complete loss.

My brother lives on Sanibel, I told him 4 yrs ago they're gonna script the storms and make coastal living impossible. Geoengineered weather created by Lucifer Inc. The 239 area code of Sanibel is the 52nd prime number and Hurricane = 52 in gematria. You've seen the T - Mobile magenta commercials with the 941 area code in your face, Sarasota AC where Milton made land fall. It's perfectly synched to George Bush Jr's visit to Sarasota on 9/11/2001 reading a book to the kiddos at Booker Elementary School. Understand that 941 is the 160 prime # and 149 is synched to Skull and Bones in basic gematria. Both Bushes were members of Yales Skull and Bones and Yale turned 323 yrs old on 10/9, the date of Miltons Sarasota landfall. Skull and Bones is known also as The Order of 322 and the Brotherhood of Death. Skull and Bones logo on the Buccaneers helmet and the Bucs were on 323 wins all time the date of Paradise Lost John Milton Hurricane

This so sad so many have started all over again. I live in California my insurance rates went up for fires. at some point insurance companies will bale out completely from most of Both coast, house are falling into the pacific on this side of the country. Living in The capital has seen 100 days over 10 degrees 7 days over 113 degrees 3 days last summer. It’s only going to get worse.

It’s great to see someone who truly loves and respects the history of beautiful Florida homes like this. And what a landlord for taking care of her tenants. Makes me feel good to see that kind of kindness and care for others. Good luck Libby.

People are trying to make a claim on their homeowners policy for flood damage and you can't do that, you have to have federal flood insurance for flood coverage. This is a deceptive video.

What s shame. This home sits on a wood framing rather than a concrete slab. All by itself, that represents a huge challenge.
@RickAndellКүн бұрын
The “good” thing about a crawl space is the plumbing is accessible. To access and repair the sewer line under a slab is a $50-75K job. Mine was $4K.
@joemartino6976Күн бұрын
@@RickAndellI get the work involved with issues in the slab, but I'm assuming they won't be a function be caused by hurricane/flood damage I'm thinking of the moisture trapped between the wood flooring and the sub-floor. Also, lots and lots of mold in the crawl space.

@trudyreiser8075Күн бұрын
you interject to say that Libby does have flood insurance, but then she was getting quotes... ? is that because her current flood insurance is going to drop her after all the claims ? If we buy a canal home in PGI, are we to expect a ~10K premium ?

After watching what Helene did in North Carolina, I told my sister who lives in the middle of Phoenix to make sure she has flood insurance. She said you can't get because there is no flood plain there. When you've got a big investment without a lot of years to live (hopefully 20 more) you can't be without flood insurance. Can you afford to lose $200,000 to $500,000?

Terrible for those involved. Given that storms are going to get more extreme and sea level rises are accelerating, more people will go through this, while saying variations of: this hasn't happened here in the x years this place has been here. I guess the insurance premiums are a leading indicator for which places will become financially unviable to live.
@crg7127Күн бұрын

What does it cost to insure the average house down there? It must be crazy high.
@bensellinКүн бұрын
Depends on age, elevation, location. If its Over 20 years old I tell people plan on 3-4k for homeowners. Newer builds can be 1500-2000 a year.

The fact that wood homes from the 1930s had not been demolished is a testimony to the area's not being targeted for demolition until roughly Irma in 2017. Now the attacks are intensifying in frequency and power.
