I can't say for sure, but I truly feel in my heart that this song was written about his ex wife Denise and was most likely written while going through his divorce. I do know that she had belonged to another man when Kevin wanted her to be his. Back then he wrote Roll with the changes about her asking her to turn the page and roll with him and she did just that. Years later sadly they divorced, but I believe he still loved her for quite some time after.

Excellent singer in his own rite..AP got that tenor, awesome raspy voice, the young looks ( on his 40's at this time of concert ! --but looks like 20years younger !! ). unbelievable energy and great stage presence !. He has brought true and NEW life back to the band that was certain floundering when SP left !! He saved Journey --- as if NO Journey band is around doing shows/concerts-- the song dies along with the band as it happened to other popular bands around !! AP is not trying to be SP--- but he has to do his work as required when he was recruited --to sing exactly the Journey songs--to continue its legacy for years---and he did !! Journey rocks!!! AP has that tenor unique masculine voice that has a natural rasp that makes it amazing !! He masters the song perfectly and is able to sing like in-studio recording while he is doing Concerts on LIVE---night after night !!! AP"s vocal versatility, talent, and unbelievable energy are the fuel that keeps the Journey Concert rocking for many years !! Can't wait to see Journey Concert with AP again--SOON !!

I was friends with his brother...Randy. He was such a nice guy! Very down to earth! He was the oldest of 4 boys! It was..Mark, Mike, & Randy! He would not take any money to teach me! Wish the whole show was on KZbin. I’d love to hear a full show without Dave, not that it should be without him but it would be different and more chilled out acoustic. It would also stop Kevin’s guitars from being drowned in the mix, you’d actually be able to hear him play even if he does only do rhythm.
