I think posture is the most critical element. Neither Oliver Robinson nor Thomas de Grey ever had a try-gun fitting. Thanks for showing the importance of posture.

Great point about how due to neural suspension the experienced shooter is perceiving something different than the beginner, and that it can drive confusing conversations!

Three bullet drill is amazing. It gets you used to seeing the correct sight picture. I haven’t had a lesson yet that I have told a shooter to do this drill. By the second or third lesson the light bulbs start popping like fireworks. 👍👍

What are some deliberate practices sessions that apply to shotgun shooting? How do you develop a deliberate practice plan and schedule? What goals should you have when shooting targets for deliberate practice? What is the correct way to practice?

Where can I find instructions on the three bullet drill. As a right handed trap shooter, will this drill help me improve on hard lefts from post 1 & 2, as those are killing my scores.
@theadmiral5425
@theadmiral5425 6 ай бұрын
This is like a 2 for 1...if you follow the three bullet drill and put a mini Maglite or laser pointer in the barrel, it not only trains the brain for the proper sight picture but also perfects the gun mount. I've since quit shooting but as a former Knowledge Vault client this really helped a lot....went from C class to Master class using this training(plus more).

Focus on each target...can you see the rings from above, black from below. Concentrate on prolonged follow-thru after taking each shot. Know why you missed each miss.

Spoken like everybody that doesn't understand eye dominance. Not everybody has a dominant eye (some have central vision) so you were wrong in your opening statement and it didn't get better, the more you went on.
@Urinehere

Yeah, im left eye dominant and my right eye is basically useless when it comes to focusing in on anything. Im right handed and when I was first started shooting shotguns right handed with both eyes open I couldn’t hit a thing. Trained my self to shoot left handed and it’s been a night and day difference

I'm a little perplexed by you saying that the birds farther away are going slower. After listening to your dad for a while now, I would have thought you'd say the birds "appear" to be going slower the farther away they are.

I agree with u 100 percent , I used the modified choke in the Remington 1100 12Ga , I once used my brother's single shot 12 Ga full choke and I might get one bird outta 8 , So modified through out the season is great .
