It is prescription in the United States and muscle relaxers are highly effective at treating certain conditions and most of them have little risk for dependency even among people with addictions. The major one to look out for is SOMA but other than that most of them are safe, with Flexeril providing a slight CNS depression and a feel good effect for some people. I'm not sure why there's this huge movement of people who takes almost every drug that improves peoples' conditions and automatically claims it is addictive or bad. This kind of misinformation and exaggeration is what leads to people not being able to get effective medications for their conditions which in turn leads to the use of illicit street drugs, which in the case of opioids and even other drugs, may be laced with Fentanyl or mislabeled, fake, cut, or anything else. Do some people develop addictions? Yes, but painting sober living as ignoring any medication that makes you feel better is stupid. The whole point of medication is to make you feel better and help with your conditions, while simultaneously making people money. Most of the drugs I've taken that were said to have the lowest risk of dependency were actually the most dangerous, and being pushed because people get kickbacks. It is best to find a doctor that is willing to look at the range of medications available and prescribe you the most effective and least dangerous one that will provide the most relief. So many people are suffering because sober living has extended to ignoring any pharmaceutical drug, and it is bolstering the "alternative medicine" community which is even worse than pharmaceuticals, primarily because it is almost entirely placebo effect. So shut the hell up and let patients and doctors work together to find individual solutions for each case and stop painting everything as addictive, we already know that. Caffeine, sugar, flour, ibuprofen, acetaminophen and many other seemingly harmless drugs can become habit forming and severely mess up your internal organs, and over the years actually kill you. This is why people use the risk/reward ratio. Like that at the end there, seek medical attention, but completely ignore the entire field of medicine lmao (except ssri's right? because we all know how effective those are for every condition.)

Thank you for making this video! I am looking for help in literally working with people in recovery as coworkers. The composition is 80/20, recovery/non-recovery. I found your video searching for "accountability in recovery" ... You can find me on Facebook facebook.com/AmyElizabethBehnke

Health and fitness...as donuts and chips are shown. 70" tv, pool table etc nice amenities but you need to realize there is a life outside of any recovery house. Tv in every room does not work...I wake up at 4am and joe (who does not work) wants to watch 'transformers' at midnight. I would smack joe in his face after I smashed the tv...I can envision gangsta rap blaring in that house, 13 stepping etc
