I have used Lotta Body for wet sets with curlers, and you really have to saturate the hair. I also think smaller sections for a braid out would produce different results. 🙂

Nice video. I currently use a leave in with a mousse. The mousses i liked for twist outs is Design essentials almond and avocado mousse and Mielle pomegranate and honey mousse. I think the trick to mousse is to be generous with it.

I am going to state an unpopular statement. Don't force your hair into a hairstyle or a trend. We as naturals don't listen to what our hair is telling us. When we jump on trends, change products, or force our hairstyles the result is damage and frustration. If your hair was thriving with proven products, techniques and hairstyles there is no need to change it. While it is okay to try new things that gut first reaction speaks volumes and you should listen. I have tried every product and combo for a wash and go and always end up with tangle dry hair. It is a firm no for my hair. My hair has to be in some type of stretched form. Mousse are too drying even with a leave in or cream base underneath. A good clarifying shampoo at least once a month or based on your hair needs resets the hair to absorb water, increases moisture retention, and allows your proven products to perform the way it was formulated. We keep complicating this issue and the end result is damaging our beautiful hair. Micro anything is also a no for my hair. I can wear buns, puffs, ans low ponytails for a very short period of time. Twists outs and braidouts have benefited my hair the most. I hope this helps someone 😅

Thank you for this informational comment! I very much agree. My hair definitely does it’s best in a stretched state. The only thing I noticed was my hair not holding onto moisture as much when stretched. How do you combat this? Moisturize though the week? That’s why I decided to try this trend / method because of its promise of max hydration, but I want that with my usual process hahaha thanks again!
@pamelathompson7850
@pamelathompson7850 Жыл бұрын
Yes I do moisture during the week with water which reactivates the product that is in your hair. Once you smooth the water from a spray bottle, baggy method, or completely submerge it under water you will be able to determine if more products are needed to add to your hair. I don't buy into the narrative that my hair on wash day is going to last 7 to 10 days. I live in a dry climate and I have a lot of gray hair that does not retain moisture. A mindset culture of hair practice laziness is causing a lot of hair problems and hair loss due to unproven practices. Your hair or hairstyle may require more upkeep and that is something that should be embraced and love because of your hair uniqueness. The health of your hair is what is important. I am a licensed nurse and esthetician. I speaker from experiences and expertise if doing my own hair. I keep it simple. Let's talk hair is a good reason by Pamela Ferrell. A pioneer in this natural hair care work that does not get enough recognization. She keeps it simple. Hope this is helpful.

I started out with the UFD gel & innersense but I wanted more hold and definition. I recommend swapping UFD gel for aunt Jackie’s flaxseed gel (rake through w/ detangling brush; I use Felicia Leatherwood), follow up with eco (olive oil) styler gel & use the doux mousse as needed to clump curls. The key is to do it on soaking wet or damp hair. My wash n go’s last 2 weeks w/o touch up.

Thank you so much for showing a styling option after blow drying and recommended products. Most influncers are pushing the Revair and their 10 percent discount code and not showing styling options and adtercare. Not everyone wants to flat iron or leave their hair in a blow out state. You bantu knots and presentation of the machine and describing each step in preping the hair were beautiful and on point. beautiful.

Liked and commenting on this video for support. I think your wash and go looks super lovely, so please don’t give up just yet! You don’t have to be as rigid with this regimen as they tell you to be. You can use a leave-in or curl cream underneath your mousse. The Doux has a foam called Crazy Sexy Curl that has a softer hold and more moisturizing feel than Mousse Def that you could use underneath Bee Girl. Also, you’re not supposed to use so much Bee Girl, the Doux’s CEO said that a little goes a very long way. Oils and butters in products are okay, it’s in their raw form that you’re not supposed to use. The important takeaway from this regimen is to wash your hair frequently and use products that align with your needs and lifestyle, but it doesn’t have to be the same products they recommend you use.

Your hair is gorgeous. It's actually no raw oils and no raw butters. I've been following this method for over 2 years. Your hair will become less tangled once it becomes hydrated. I use products with oils formulated in them. I just don't use raw oils and butters on my strands.

Yeah, leave ins will always decrease the hold of your styler. gels tend to flake with a twist out cause you’re breaking the gel cast as you take the twists down. a custard may work better as you said

I just purchased the Mousse Def and my ends also got frizzy when I used it alone. I tried putting a leave-in conditioner on top (the daily one from tgin) and it held for about 4 days. Maybe a gel will hold for even longer! This was a great video ❤
