It worked! Saved me a ton of money and was easier than I thought it would be. I did have a little trouble feeding the vacuum line in from the passenger side up to the front. But after a couple of tries it made it through and I was able to grab it and pull it through. I did remove my battery based on the other comment saying it made it easier to install, and im not sure that was actually necessary in my case but I can't remember for sure. Try it if you're having issues. Thank you Vantage Optics! My mechanic couldn't even diagnose this issue properly and it probably would have cost me around $1200 at a Ford repair shop to fix. I got AC again, and I did it myself!! (and a little help from a friend who had some tools)
@davidm1599
@davidm1599 Жыл бұрын
Using a "kind of stiff" wire thru the grommet hole & up, it comes right out in the upper corner behind the blower. You can use that to pull the vac hose thru.

Might want to add some health and safety tips. Gasoline is an extremely toxic batch of chemicals. It should NEVER come in contact with your skin because your skin will absorb everything from chemicals to water. (Everyone has heard of the smoking parches, right?) After being absorbed into your body, Your liver and kidneys may end up having to work harder to filter the toxins. If you are a 18 year old guy with a liver almost like new, you have better odds than if you are much older with a fatty liver from poor eating choices. Next is the fire hazard ...... ANYTIME gasoline is spilled because some of it will become vaporized! (More on hot days less on cold days) Gasoline vapor is meant to ignite easy so it could be as simple as a low humidity day and you get static electricity while sliding under the truck and spark the fuel. Or you could be the lucky one doing this repair in your garage with the natural gas pilot light (flame) 4" off the floor. close by. Vapors travel and BOOM. Many will think I am over cautious but ask Jay Leno about garage fires. Google it if you didn't know he got burnt for details. He has had his garage and maintenance going on for decades until the right circumstances came together! I suspect Jay had the proper fire extinguisher handy (which is not water!!) as gasoline on skin and clothes does not .extinguish easily. That is why Napalm was used in war!! Just some things to consider before you do a repair like this, just be prepared. Last thing you want is to be the subject of a virial video talking about how you were burned or torched your garage after watching a YT video. YT videos are great, but you have to be the one to consider the safety aspects and even if possible find out exactly how the pros do the repair if needed.
