I also have to add: I doubt Israel's relationship was in the context of "master and slave". Rather, a loving, forgiving and merciful Father whose children rebelled against the boundaries He put down through commandments, precepts and rules, which was ultimately for their well-being.

I wonder, does what he says @ around 22:46 mean that today, under the new covenant, we do not have to fear God? Surely not. The NT has enough references to the fact that God should always be feared. Jesus said in Luke 12:5 "... Fear him who after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." And 1 Peter 1:17 "... live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear." So I believe that we should "fear God" even under the new covenant of "grace", especially because the precious blood of His son brought us the dispensation of grace. Heb. 12:28-29 "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reference and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire.
