Relocating is no longer attractive, rent is incredibly high and on a monthly basis. Exchange rate is not even smiling, 1k naira is 375cfa. I just got back from Benin and i wasn't happy at all. Unless there is something no one is telling me

@@julues2066 I love your last line. There is something you don't know. 1k Naira is less than $1 but many are still traveling or Japa to those country. You cannot be in UK and be earning from Nigeria to sustain yourself. You have to earn from the country or you will just go hungry because of exchange rate. As I always advice those relocating, fine a business you want to do here first, get a small apartment, and come with 3 month living cost, and your business capital. 3 months is enough to get profitable earnings within and everything is over. You can be spending Naira here, it will drain you, just earn from the country

@@Lokossousylvain so I decided to come with 5m , to get an apartment and a shop, but after calculating, 5m was less than 2m CFA. I know I can't be living in cotonou and earning from Nigeria, it is impossible or foolish. My plan was to start a business there

Ur analysis is very good. Better than that of the many bloggers that I've watched and read. U are more realistic and reasonable than anyone else trying to paint some baseless rosy picture of the situation over there in Benin Republic. One factor that I think is affecting the francophone countries in Africa is the tight grip of France on them which makes those countries the most expensive in Africa. They're all more expensive than the anglophone countries. Even with the current high inflation in Nigeria, Nigeria is still cheaper to live in than in any of the francophone countries. I just rented a 3 bedroom bungalow with space for 10 cars in Nigeria. If i were to rent that in Benin Republic, it'll cost me possibly, 1000% more! Only 2 months' rent in Benin Republic will pay for my whole years' rent in Nigeria. So, to move from Nigeria to Benin Republic, U must have a business there and make some good amount of money.
