There's no varnish. It's food-grade mineral oil. And the glue has a special serial marking for wooden utensils.

What's wrong with them. It's an oak board. It has a good behavior in use. These boards need proper care. You'll be fine.

No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacture of these boards. Special Titebond glue for wooden utensils. And mineral edible oil.

I built this very table from plans offered by the famous Norm Abrams from New Yankee Workshop and This Old House fame!! I added a box behind the fence to catch the chips, along with the compartment below. I use a double hose from my dust collector.

Hello. It is strong enough for a dining table. You can move the groove closer to the center of the leg for more strength. But then the leg will protrude slightly over the edge of the frame.
