This is the only version I've seen where Zira's mom is evil and her dad is good. In all the other TLK fanfics I've seen it's always been the other way around. Kuzimu (Zira's father) killed Azola (Zira's mother) and raised his daughter to be full of hate.

Thank you, this is very helpful! Shading is my favorite part when drawing because it makes your character pop out more, but then sometimes I have trouble knowing where to put light and shadows on my characters (Especially with male lions, I understand how hard it is to put shading on a lion's mane). I still don't know how to use the gradient tool on my program (Clip Studio Paint) but when I figure it out it will help a lot as well when shading. Also, can you do a background tutorial if that is possible? Great tutorial either way!

I really appreciate you using the examples and what tools you used to achieve the specifics for your shadowing/lighting. I am curious of what art program you use. I'm currently using Krita and your program seems similar, but more professional with smooth lines and a smarter selection tool. Is it a program you would recommend?
