Rwanda builds a beautiful building, but then adds decorations on the exterior that destroys its beauty and harmony, and asthetics, as well as world standard appearance. This is because they use mediocre architects and designers who don't know how to incoperate traditional designs in buildings. It's a waste of money, and it's frustrating. The planning department should intervene when it comes to commisioning architectural projects whenever the design des not meet the standards and asthetics required to constitute good design. Otherwise, people will keep on building whatever they want, and this create disorder, not only on the building itself, but also on the surrounding, yet Rwanda is a clean and orderly society. For example the Huye Trading Company building first has the truss pattern which in structural design, it's meant to have it's functionality but here, it is being used as a pattern, placed awkwardly in a way that interrupts the horrizontal flow of the building. Then you also have this orange decoration that tilts and then curves at the top, waywardly placed without any consideration of its effect on the overall appearance of the building and its surroundings. Complete disharmony and disorder. It's annoying.... Expensive building for nothing when a much better job could have been done for lesser cost. Keep it simple, less is more. Be elegant! Be sophisticated!
