Were the mounting points for the seats already there. If you had to drill right through. Did you have to drop the fuel tank down
@CreweTube
@CreweTube 6 күн бұрын
No, had to drill and bolt through with spreader plates. The factory tourneos mount in a similar way but with custom spreader plates that are also welded onto chassis rails. Fuel tank needed its strap undone and dropped slightly (onto a jack) but not fully dropped.

easier next time, lube the contact points of the pads, then install them. do not forget to remove the slide pins from the bracket, lube with silicone grease and instal

Do you know the new weight of the car now?
@CreweTube
@CreweTube Ай бұрын
Not yet, it was 900kg +- 20kg with the old engine and roll cage, but with the front passenger seat. I imagine its probably equalled itself out with things removed and added so probably around the same. Aiming for 8xx kg

ON my Twingo when i changed the clutch, the biting point was non existent - felt like the clutch cable was snagged/bent or something. I hooked my foot around the clutch pedal and yanked it toward me - heard/felt a click - must have adjusted something somewhere as its been absolutely fine ever since.
@CreweTube

Has been known to happen on the cable clutch Renaults, this one is hydraulic now though.

Self clearancing perhaps 😅 Also I hate doing brake stuff, the fluid itself is a sensory nightmare and I'm always concerned about accidentally leaving some on paint

Do you need the crank case breather? Is it essential when doing the induction kit?

It will just exhaust out potentially very oily part combusted gas into engine bay otherwise

Good vid! Really inspiring for me. I've just started with my Twingo project and this is like founding gold!!. You have a new sub. Do you know the different in the wide between both beams? How are you gonna deal with the extra gauge? Thanks!
@CreweTube
@CreweTube Ай бұрын
RS beam is 20mm wider thanks to slightly different stub axles, but I was running 20mm spacers on old axle anyway

I got the exact same Twingo 1.2 extreme (D7F800 8v) and your videos been helping me along with the bits on mine haha, gutted it and got buckets and shit like that haha, I even took the rear crash bar out and cut the bumper to save a bit extra weight. Desperately want to put the 1.2 turbo D4F engine in it though that 8v NA sounds the part with a bigger cam but can’t handle boost to turbo it alone so the swap to a GT engine would be way better!

Another fix i did to my custom was to lube them without drilling, and it was actually an issue on the hinge brackets were not lined up from the usage. Just try to loosen the bolts on the car frame so that the bracket has free move, and close and open few times. Did the trick for me and the hinges aligned again.

Are you telling me these seat rails have just been bolted straight onto the 2/3mm thick van floor with bolts !? In the event of a crash it is high likely the force will rip them from the floor propelling passenger!! Have they been secured to the chassis leg (no they haven't as there are two one to the left and right)... Any reinforced steel underneath welded in place for securing??
@CreweTube
@CreweTube 2 ай бұрын
They have steel spreader plates underneath, shown in the video. This is pretty much the standard install method like FIA/MSUK recommend for cages and seat belt mounts to distribute load. Factory Tourneo and Transit Custom DCIV use the same setup as they share the floorpan.

Looks like a good time, would that be the RWD model? If so I think taking my RWD LR to open track should be enjoyable.
@CreweTube
@CreweTube 3 ай бұрын
All I5 are RWD, this was just the smaller 58kwh battery version which has a slightly lower power too. Check your local track regs, a lot have clamped down on EVs now due to danger when crashed.
@AZDAN_IONIQ5
@AZDAN_IONIQ5 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info, I realize all single motor I5s are RWD but some here in the states are AWD. I missed the fact that this was the lower hp model, I think the 225hp RWD performs well enough. I will look into my local track details, great vids BTW 0:02 ! 👍
