The very last Halo campaign mission I ever did in my Live gaming days. I legit wanted everything at 4 and after to be a surprise to me sometime later if I ever came back to it. This one game with one team was much better than I'd anticipated. There's just so much to grasp with Halo.

I don’t think I’ve ever been hit emotionally harder when I realized that I wasn’t making it off Reach. Fighting for hours on end trying to hold out until I was rescued, until the cavalry came and saved me, but it never came. I then saw the hud disappear and the screen had cracks, and that’s when it hit me. I was going to die alone. We were to lose this fight. All of us, we chose to make our final stand when Noble 6 said, “I have the gun.”

Fun fact: in canon, this last stand is supposed to last roughly 18 hours in total. Noble 6 was a certified legend

I never played this as a kid because I was always a PlayStation guy. Now as an adult I’m playing this for the first time and I love it.

I am thankful

No one is coming back. You have no hope of survival. The realization sets in: you are going to die here, no matter what you do. But just because you are going to lose doesnt necessarily mean the enemy has to win.

We all knew 6 wouldn’t survive, couldn’t survive. The inevitability of the ending made us feel it so much more.

God id LOVE to see this game remade in the gritty realistic infinite artstyle. And, more importantly, with redone animations. Some of the animation comes off as goofy and weird and sorta takes away from the tone of the scene
