was there any riders riding hardtails
@ofcsu14 жыл бұрын
Our group were all on full squish, but there were people at the park rocking hard tails. There are plenty of trails that a hard tail would have no problems with, so if thats what you're worried about, then you really don't have to anymore. Going there with a hard tail would still be a blast.

There are bike specific trails that you need to ride. All in all, I'd say its a good 6 miles of trail to explore, but that includes a lot of up and backs down the different branches.

You can either park at 1 of the 2 parking lots on Bells Mills road, or park at Valley Green Inn. Both are equally viable but I tend to park at bell's mills when i plan on doing a full loop
@Srdeo335 жыл бұрын
this section is probably easiest to get to from Pachella field (at the top, off Henry ave). At first split you go right. It will be flow trail down to the bottom and there you cross the bridge then make your way up. Next real downhill section will be the downhill shown at the end of the clip.

Core Creek is a nice ride but kind of confusing until you get to know it. Lots of pedaling, some nice log-overs and a little flow in the loops. Definitely hit Core Creek if you're within a 30 minute drive and looking for something new. Park in the Dutchess lot with the cats and bring your hardtail.

Don't want to seem like a stalker, but I keep coming across your videos for Evansburg. Your point at 10:00 is priceless. I rode from home to Conicelli Toyota on the Schuylkill trail and carried. It wasn't comfortable and didn't stay still, even in a Serpa Hydra OWB. I'm still in search of a good on body carry setup for riding.
@ofcsu15 жыл бұрын
I just dont carry at all while riding. There is no really good solution, and the risks and cons far outweigh the pros in my opinion. At least while MTBing. If you are cruising on a paved trail or doing a roadie, then its a bit more feasible.
@phatdonkey785 жыл бұрын
Were you sitting most of the time? I am going to head there for the first time next weekend. I have a hardtail though. Looks like itll be a bumpy ride for sure.
@ofcsu15 жыл бұрын
You'll be fine with a hardtail. The trails, outside of a few select sections, arent that rocky. A lot of the shake in this video is from me mounting the gopro wrong. You will be in the saddle with no problem for 90% of the climbing. Only a few sections require you to get out of the saddle on the climbs.

So let me ask you. If you have the choice between riding this system and Spring Mountain which one would you do? Which is more fun?
@ofcsu15 жыл бұрын
Spring mountain is has more features and has a lot more tech sections, its also pretty easy to navigate since it was a bike park before. Evansburg is a lot more single track and is way more confusing. A lot of different loops and a few up and backs. If you have the stamina to keep making the climb, i would say spring mountain. If you dont know if you got it in you to climb the mountain a couple times, then evansburg is your better bet.
@FlowFinderUSA5 жыл бұрын
We're talking about heading there on sat. Is it worth the trip and the shuttles up?
@ofcsu15 жыл бұрын
The bike park itself has been shut down for a few years, so there are no lifts or shuttles. You'll have to make the climb manually. Most of the features have held up really well and are still very rideable. Its not going to be like mountain creek, but its still worth checking it out at least once.
@FlowFinderUSA5 жыл бұрын
@@ofcsu1 Yeah, I just watched a vid from 6 years ago and man that place looked pretty rad! The wood was all brand new. Things go to shit quick. Did you ever find the blue trails? @@FlowFinderUSA I've been back a few times since then and have ridden pretty much all the trails that are still rideable. I'd say there are only about 5 little sections that are overgrown, so most of the trails are still great. The climb sucks balls, but i still love the place. Hoepfully the owners open up the park again sometime soon.
@FlowFinderUSA5 жыл бұрын
@@ofcsu1 Have you hit all the features that you went around on this vid? Tell me which trails are still rideable? Be great not to waste time trying to find everything. I actually may be able to get the woman to be our shuttle this Saturday so the I can miss the "sucking balls" part. XD
@ofcsu15 жыл бұрын
@@FlowFinderUSA they have the fire roads blocked off to prevent anyone shuttling up unfortunately. As far as the features, i think I've hit about half of the ones that are on the mountain. There is a HUGE drop that i havent hit, and probably wont. It looks to be sturdy still, but i am nowhere near ready for such a high risk drop. There is an awesome technical section with huge boulders all linked together with wooden bridges that is in perfect shape. I would say all the trails except for parts of Walt's Erector Set are rideable.

You know that long climb just after you turn right @8:20? You go all the way up to the top where it splits and you can either go straight or turn right and climb some more. The 2 trails run parallel for a bit before meeting back up? It cuts through there and goes all the way back down to forbidden drive. If you do it, then you have to make that long climb again, but its worth it.

Hey from Pa want to upgrade my hybrid giant roam 2 to a trail bike can’t decide on a Hardtail or full suspension any suggestions? What are you riding?
@ofcsu15 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to reply to this since yesterday. Lets see if number 5 is the one that goes through. I currently ride a full suspension Giant Trance 29er, but for your first trail bike, I would recommend a hardtail. Simply because it will help you get a better feel for your bike and the features on the trail (since you have no rear suspension to soak anything up), and you will be able to get more bike for the same price. Since there is no rear suspension to take up cost, any money spent on a hardtail can be focused on things like better components and a better fork. What part of PA are you from?
