Most of the "building" remains in tact as expected. Should have weakened it to the point of instability.

Oh but of course, a building that can stand that high only has just enough strength to hold it together without a little extra force. And on the way down all the parts of the steel frame just spew out the side like they were never attached

I made this five years ago. It was never ment to be realistic. I just wanted to see a bunch of cubes fall to the ground in a somewhat satisfying manner.

Is this kind of animation what movie makers use to make destroying building with just a little extra editing Also mass realistic destruction is one of my favourite things to watch happen if not irl of course

"Skyscrapers vs. Explosion" is the failure mode, that I expected to see in 9/11. Obviously, the physics did work differently... only in that one single day!
@Thereviewer-lg6yr5 жыл бұрын
Computer programs =/= real life. And besides, that building looks nothing like either the Twin Towers or the Pentagon, making the above simulations useless in simulating the building collapses on that day.
@rinse-esnir40103 жыл бұрын
Just because something didn't happen the way you expected doesn't mean that physics worked differently that day.

what method did you use for the mesh body deformation? Care to share a bit on what you did? I have seen many people struggle with the Rigid Body Soft Body contraints method. There's another method that allows you to manually displace mesh geometry and then keyframe that and have it progress on contact but doesn't use the physics engine in the deformation at all. What did you do? I like the flying headlamps and such. Glass particles look pretty good too.
