These are not $500 nor are they worth $500. You can price gouge for $500 but they have never retailed for $500.

Why didn't you show how you restored the outsole??
@milehighsneakers3 ай бұрын
I didn’t show the newish outsole because I wasn’t able to find an outsole in the same colorway. I did something that hasn’t been done before from my knowledge. I didn’t want to show/talk about it as I haven’t perfected this method yet.

Can I ask what was the approx mix/ratio between 18K Gold, Metallic Bronze and the black ?
@milehighsneakers5 ай бұрын
I don’t remember exactly but I would guesstimate 1.5 (Gold) to 1 (Bronze), and I only added a few drops of black paint. Hope this helps.

@@milehighsneakersDid you get it from a donor sneaker?
@milehighsneakers3 ай бұрын
I personally haven’t experimented with it ,but I believe if the fabric behind the jumpman is the same color on the donor than you could paint the jumpman or make a vinyl cutout of the jumpman and apply it over the original.

I’d just start with using 200 grit sandpaper to smooth out the midsole. After sanding I just apply light coats of paint. For the smoothest finish I will apply a few coats of paint and then sand the paint with a higher grit to a matte finish. I typically work my way up to 600 grit on Jordan 3 midsoles.
@jonahbrotnov87926 ай бұрын
these shoes were absolutely cooked and you saved them. great job! but I would add a clear coat on top of the paint to make it last longer
@milehighsneakers6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. I did end up adding a flat varnish to the upper and midsole off camera. I ran out a few days before I finished the shoe and heavy snow delayed the shipment.

These are the last “good” shape Jordan 1 og retro high before they ruined the model with those boxy toeboxes… there are version 2 but they are good compared to for example the recently released yellow ochre which look like Frankenstein shoes. Don’t understand what Jordan Brand is playing… anyways thanks for the video! Keep them coming :)
@milehighsneakers6 ай бұрын
Agreed, majority of new Jordan shoes aren’t made as well as they used to be, it makes them a bit more difficult to restore as they feel so fragile. Glad to see you enjoy the content :)

It’s possible, but it all depends on how the shoes have been stored and if they’ve been worn very little or not. Humid climates tend to weaken the midsoles faster.

Which paint(s) did you use to repaint the back tabs? I'm trying to restore my DMPs and the gold on my back tabs are fading.
@milehighsneakers8 ай бұрын
I used Pearlescent 18K Gold, Metallic Bronze, and a tiny bit of black paint all from Angelus Direct. It took me 2 or 3 tries to get the correct mixture. Try to match it up to the gold parts on the old midsole if possible.

@@milehighsneakerswhat’s your thoughts about wearing AJ6 Black/Infrared 2014 these days ? Is the midsole suitable for being worn or will it start to crack and fall apart ?
@milehighsneakers8 ай бұрын
Since the shoes are 10 years old the midsole will start to crumble at some point. Personally I have a White/Infrared 6 from 2013 and the midsole is still in good condition. The reason that midsoles start to crumble over time is due to humidity, but wear and age do have a role in that. Personally I will put my thumb on the foam below the air unit and push the foam down a little to see if any cracking happens around the air unit.
