Als jij zo een paard zadelmak maakt dan hoop ik dat je in vrede sterft want dit is dierenmishandeling in mijn ogen. Een paard dat nog nooit bereden is geweest die kent de hulpen en sturen en alles nog niet ook doe je dit niet alleen je kruipt ook niet na 1 keer op een paard.

Was this his first time under saddle ? Not the way I would start a young horse . The term " broken " already suggestes you need to fix things later . The horse was not given time to relax and think about what was happening . To him this was probably a terrifying experience and this will surface later .

Not the worst i've seen, but if you start a horse off by making them do something instead of them doing it because they choose to, then for the whole of the horse's life you will have to make them everything do what you want them to do! I can break a horse in half hour worth no bucking, no rodeoing, no rearing with their first saddle on, and then I get on them and do a lap on each rain in walk and the same in trot and I cannot remember when I last did a horse that bucked with me - their first rider! Why? Because they chose to have me on their backs, and they chose to have the saddle on, I never make them. Horses broken by my methods are the horses that turn into the 'one in a million' horses, the superstars because they want to work for you because tey no they have the choice!

If i would "break in" a horse i would take the time for it. Maybe i would take a year for it. Starting with a relationship and building up trust with the horse. Some things take time. In this case you should take the time needed for it.

Hallo je gaat niet met zo’n jong veulen springen het kan me niet schelen dat het maar even is en ik snap dat ze ook bokken en dat soort dingen doen maar ik ken iemand die dat ook deed en het veulen kneusde zijn rugspier en het veulen moest ingeslapen worden en het was maar een laag kruisje van 20 cm dus ik zou het niet meer doen als ik jou was!!!!!!

Naast de duidelijke fouten die hij maakt in de communicatie met het paard gaan er nog veel meer dingen mis. Dit paard is 4 jaar en kan nog niet normaal gelongeerd worden, dat is niet normaal. Een paard moet eerst rustig en betrouwbaar zijn in de omgang voor je er zadels op gaat gooien, met zwepen naar gooit en er een heel publiek bij haalt. Een zadel moet zeker op een jong paard als je de eerste keer er op gaat zitten juist passen. Dit paard heeft nog nooit een zadel gezien. Normaal gezien begin je met het paard te laten kennis maken met een zadel, hem te leren hoe het voelt als het op zijn rug ligt etc. Tijdens deze stap kijk je ook of het past. Dat is in deze video niet gebeurd. Voor hetzelfde geld doet dit zadel echt pijn en we zullen het nooit geweten hebben want deze meneer vindt zichzelf te belangrijk om na te gaan of het zadel past. En dan nog iets; dit is levensgevaarlijk voor een paard. De kans dat een paard tijdens dit proces valt in zijn bokken en stijgeren is echt heel groot. Hij houdt zogezegt het paard voorwaards om dit te verkomen maar dat is absoluut geen garantie op veiligheid. Ik doe ook veel dingen om te zorgen dat mijn paard niet schrikt, stijgert of iets anders en dat geldt voor elke leeftijd van paarden. Toch mag je niet vergeten dat het een levend wezen is en dat alles afhangt van je reactiesnelheid. Reageert die man bij één van zijn paarden net iets te laat omdat hij mens is dan kan hij er in 1 seconde voor zorgen dat een paard moet ingeslapen worden. Vreselijke man!

While this isn't how I would start a green horse, personally, I don't see much "wrong" going on here. Yes, he sped up the process, but he also gave the horse time to adjust. I see the complaints about how the horse was bucking/rearing/crowhopping when the girth was tightened. However, I could have seen this happening at any point in the horse's training. Even in the beginning when the horse was first brought out, you could tell he was iffy about the touch on his girth when Herman ran his hand down and under his girth. He was sensitive from the get-go, and Herman knew he was going to be that way with the saddle based on how he was with his hand. You can see by the way he was already reaching for the lead from his assistant after the girth was on. I also did not see "abuse" by this man, or any of his assistants. They encouraged the horse to move forward, sure, but the horse was not whipped into it. You can hear the clucks of "move forward, move forward." As for the mounting and remounting, he was getting the horse used to the idea of having someone mounting him over and over. Most horses should be exposed to that, since dismounting once does not mean that the ride is over. Notice how after the horse spooked at the end, he was right back onto the horse's back to show that simply rearing would not end the lesson. And yes, he held onto the horse's face. I wouldn't want a horse on a completely loose rein either if I was on their back for the first time. And he gave tons of encouragement/reward in his frequent walk/stop breaks, and he was constantly patting the horse to show affection. Basically, I've seen horses and trainers with lots of groundwork/saddlework/experience who do plenty worse than this horse and trainer did in a whole 16 minutes.
