I'm a chip junkie. I still haven't tried making my own with my air fryer. It seems like a very energy and time intensive process for just a few chips. I still buy bags of chips, and have been buying the Terra brand chips which are made from sweet potatoes, taro, and other root vegetables, BUT, like almost all other chips on the market, are made using canola and/or safflower oil. If only they'd use olive or avocado oil!!! I'd pay the extra couple bucks gladly! People are still too uninformed about how bad seed oils are, so there's not enough demand to change to the better oils.
@healthhollow7218 Жыл бұрын
Amen!!!! I don’t know why they have to add all of those unhealthy oils. I like making my own, although it is very time consuming.
@randomoneforstuff3696 Жыл бұрын
@@healthhollow7218 I don't understand what people find unhealthy about those oils. "ultra-processed" is a buzz word that has no meaning. The only bad aspect of seed oils is their high omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, which can be mitigated by eating food high in omega-3 fatty acids.
@healthhollow7218 Жыл бұрын
@@randomoneforstuff3696 everything is fine in moderation of course. I wouldn’t think it could be good for a person to be consuming these things all day everyday though. I have days when I eat chips and cookies 😉 there are also so many oxidized oils they use in fast food restaurants. Food getting fried over and over again in oil that is supposed to be changed frequently but who knows really! This is a good video on seed oils and how they are in so many foods: kzbin.infoeDmGZwFIpEw?feature=sharea

@@healthhollow7218 Of course. I don't really like the approach of that video, however. Pointing out that sunflower seed oil and canola oil are in nearly every fried product is basically fear mongering, as anyone who does any bit of cooking knows that those are the cheapest oils and thus would be the obvious choice for a company to fry their products in at a large scale. And the part about "free radicals" - by that he is talking about 2 things: - the trace amounts of hexane, which are in the parts per million and basically negligent to human health at that point - the high "inflammatory" omega-6 contents, which can be mitigated by eating foods high in omega-3 acids And all the studies I have found that have to do with seed oils look only at the effects of their high omega-6 contents, and this is of no consequence if you have a well-rounded diet that also includes omega-3 acids. www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/scientists-debunk-seed-oil-health-risks/

I am ready to buy one...what kind of Air Fryer do you recommend,
I am following the instructions in this video. But for some reason, the mixture does not roll properly after spreading and cooling. It keeps breaking. What am I doing wrong?
@sweetspicyspecial2859 Жыл бұрын
Did you make a thick layer? thick layer will break. It has to be thinly spread. Also what happens is that the mixture should be hot when you spread it. If the mixture becomes warm then it thickens more and you will not be able to spread it thinly and evenly. so keep everything ready and one has to be very quick in spreading khandvi batter.

What is the size of your air fryer and the pan that you use?

@sweetspicyspecial28592 жыл бұрын
You can use any ovenproof dish or mold in the Airfryer, whether it is made of glass, ceramic, metal or silicone. The baking tin should still leave some space on either side when you place it in the basket to ensure the airflow can pass around it.

To avoid crispyness on bread surface, can I cover it with alumunium foil first and then open it halfway just to give the bread some color?
@sweetspicyspecial28592 жыл бұрын
You can cover the food with aluminum foil as long as it doesn't block the circulation of hot air & there is no contact with heating element. But instead of covering the dough in initial phase I would suggest to keep an eye and when bread gets required color, reduce the temp & cover the bread (not basket) with aluminum foil till fully baked.
