Typical hollywood propaganda in building narration that Protestant colonials were so nice gentle and good and Catholics are so cruel devils. There are still millions who read English medias who believe Columbus went West to prove Church is wrong that Earth is not flat but round. Anti Catholic narrations by Anglophones still survive and are made in this 21st century of information including latest hoax of Canada Mass graves

This must be the the colonialism people rage about. I see tribes savagely murdering one another and the "colonizer" trying to bring peace. of course you won't hear that in any college classroom it doesn't fit the narrative

I hope this delivers on the themes it seems to explore in the trailer. Is religion, is culture, always just a personal brand of identity, or is there a way for us to transcend what has come before by changing our beliefs? How will we answer our conscience when we seemingly betray our inherited roles to embrace a bold new personal choice? What is the role of duty in conscience? In this trailer Pearce's role seems understated, and I hope there is more to it than that.

Great to see an accurate representation of pre European Māori society. Violent patriarchal tribalism where cannibalism and slavery were commonplace. Thank God for the civilising influence of the European missionaries.

“ Violent patriarchal tribalism were cannibalism and slavery were commonplace. ” As if Europe is any different!!
@hira43694 сағат бұрын
@@marcusshakur3481 firstly, Europeans didn’t cannibalise each other. Secondly, they progressed beyond the evils of slavery, became considerably more civilised and embraced the principles of the Enlightenment, including inalienable individual rights. Māori were still a violent and self destructive Stone Age people when first encountered. The missionaries halted the Māori self genocide.

Es malísima esa peli está en Netflix y toda la película es verle la cara de estreñido y pena triste al protagonista y solo al final de la película está el terremoto y para lo que se ve pues después que se da solo se enfoca en el protagonista encerrado en un ascensor es demasiado mala

One of the most powerful scenes of the movie. The director took such care to show that this group of misfits really was a family. No matter the outcome they were doing the best that they could for each other in their own ways. I recently watch Call Me Chihiro and i have to say that these two movies really surprised me, they have more heart than most films i have ever seen.

The Maori were incredibly bloodthirsty. While most primitive peoples practiced limited warfare - tit for tat, stealing mates but also trading - Maori were unique in that they had wars of annihilation. The other side was shown no mercy, the battles went on long after any other primitive tribe would have stopped. They are an interesting anomaly in primitive warfare.
