@danielbyrdmusic88248 күн бұрын
I’m glad they are helping! I just wear those because the mic I have can be a bit hit or miss sometimes and will make strange noises. If I have the headphones on, I can catch when that happens and adjust it if I need to.

Hey :) I am on a road to listening 200 blues albums and since I am playing alone I have a question. Any player who plays like Tommy Emmanuel Stevie's Blues or Guitar boogie where you have all the parts at the same time? Most of the blues players I listened to use similar vocabulary, mostly first 3 positions of the pentatonic with sometimes added maj6, maj2 and a blue note. Usually they don't address IV chord or sing through it. Acoustic blues - I like those fills and short licks at the end of bars. I am good at transcribing solos, just don't know what would be the best way to improve.
@danielbyrdmusic882414 күн бұрын
That’s a really good question! First off, I don’t think there’s anyone out there in blues or otherwise than can get close to what Tommy Emmanuel does. He is otherworldly! Secondly, there are a few blues guys that come to mind when you talk about playing rhythm and melody at the same time. Robert Johnson certainly does this to an extent, especially in songs like “Stones in My Passway,” where he’s playing a melodic line underneath a droning bass. I would also point to Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Lemon Jefferson, and Reverend Gary Davis. They all played some very cool melodic lines underneath their basic chords. A little outside the realm of blues but Elizabeth Cotton does a lot of that as well. I hope that helps!

Excellent Selection! Thanks for including a lesson with it. He died here in Chicago. As a youngster, early teens, would see posters of him all over playing with Muddy, James Cotton, Willie Dixon, and eventually Famous Rock Groups. Never got to see him but his influence on Rockers, especially British and the "Chicago Sound" is forever.
