Hi - recently migrated from old Air to new with everything working except this search aspect, I performed both steps outlined in your video and what happens is after re-downloading all the emails from the server, strange enough if I do a search it seems to work (I'm guessing in parallel with doing the full indexing) BUT after some time (again a guess that after the indexing is 100% complete) it goes back to no results found. MacAirbook M2 Sonoma 14.2.1 Outlook 16.8.1 (360) Any thoughts?

You are a genius! I have gone to so many sites to try to fix this flaw on my brand new Macbook Air and your solution is the one that has made the Outlook search function work. The file display on my computer was a bit different than what was shown on your screen but I kept working to open the folders until I finally found Outlook in the library section. By including and then unchecking it from privacy it has started the search function. With your accent you might be in the UK--wish I could buy you a pint!

Thanks Carl for the tutorial. Couple of random questions: 1) Regarding Microsoft Office in Parallels, are features like the keyboard shortcuts available and use the Windows syntax, or VBA available? Likewise, would PowerBI also work? 2) Does Parallels 18 require active internet connection? Are you able to use entirely offline? 3) Based on your observations, is there a limit to the amount of system resources that Parallels can handle without degrading the experience? Most likely going to be working with a 16GB RAM MBP M1 and curious if majority of the resources should be allocated to Parallels, if using multiple programs.

No problem, thanks for watching and subscribe for more. As for your questions: 1:) Yes, you can map keyboard short cuts for windows to match the Mac keyboard configuration and that means all the other options as you put would work as it would be just functioning as a Windows machine. 2:) It doesn’t require an internet connection. 3:)This depends on the task and version of Windows you have installed. When I first started using it I tried giving it as much as possible but you lose stability as the Mac experience starts to degrade. I’ve found anything from 4GB RAM to 6GB RAM to be the sweet spot. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% going to run well, depends on workflow etc but it’s certainly manageable day to day.

Thank you for this video. Unfortunately I have the same problem, but the boot flag (video.metal=0) does not solve the problem..... Parallels is almost unusable with going into suspended mode every time I switch to Mac OS. Maybe it is time to switch to a different virtual machine....
