So it looks like a steel eccentric stud with an Aluminum roller with a snap ring holding them together. So why not replace the Aluminum roller with a sealed Bearing or did you feel that was an over kill..?? Also was there enough force being applied to the Aluminum rollers that they should have been supported on either side by the Gussets you made? So now after seven months how's it holding up..?? Inquisitive minds want to know. Lol Good video.

There really isn’t any load to speak of on the rollers. Bearings would be massively overkill along with making it double shear. With those rollers there would be no way to do that anyway. I probably use the press about once a month and so far no sign of an issue. I actually used it in another video to flare a pipe. I think it might be the first Nova build video.

Yes, it's exactly the same on the Sniper. There is another full teardown video of a Sniper on my channel that would basically give the info you would need on that. What would a kit cost if you put 1 2gether with rollers and bracket tabs? Ive been trying to figure out a good solution but never really needed 1 until I just bought a brake press setup for my shop press. Figured having stuff tight will get better bends on stuff. If the price is right id definitely be interested. Itd save me a TON of time trying to fit stuff up source parts

Had RFI so bad unit would reboot while cranking. Solved with a 1 amp diode ie: 1N4004 followed by a 1ohm 1 watt resistor connected to a >3000uf 20V or higher filter cap positive terminal, negative lead to ground. Hook positive to pink wire. Circuit is a low pass filter with ability to ride out RFI signal interference.

I run a phenolic spacer on my sniper 1 the scooped 4 hole kind . I run it to stop the sniper whistle sound . It loses power at higher elevations pretty bad and runs awful and pops . Do you think this spacer could be the problem ? If so could I dremel in a groove into the spacer to make it read both sides .

If you only needed one throttle body and 4 injectors are enough you could just not connect the second throttle body and set it up as a single 4150 4 injector in the configuration file.

I have a sniper bbd on a jeep Wrangler 1987 the TPS when the engine is off goes to 98 when I push the pedal to the floor, but while it's running it won't go above 35 no matter how far I push the pedal

I haven't. There didn't seem to be much interest in it so I moved on. For standard press work these things work fine without this modification, it's when you get into certain things like when I was pressing distributor gears on, I needed zero movement side to side for it work go smoothly.

Would it be advisable to add a fuse into the relay setup? Or, if I understand correctly, is the Sniper circuit already sufficiently protected by the 30A fuse between the battery and main relay, because the current flowing through the pink wire is only used a trigger for the main relay -- and thus never flowing directly to the Sniper. Thanks! Appreciate the great content.

The pink wire should be connected to a fused circuit. It only provides 12v power to the relay, the Sniper itself controls the relay’s on and off function. The pink wire also turns the ecu on. It gets its power from the main power and ground, but the pink wire is what actually turns it on.

I had same problem when I bought a Holley Terminator (original) years ago. Tried twice to fix, Holley and Edelbrock were no help. it's been in a box since. (Hunting after the Holley warmed to closed loop, I have the Edelbrock Air Gap performer manifold on a Ford 351W.) I still haven't tried round 3 - replacing the carb w/ the Holley Terminator again. Recently I acquired another Air Gap to cut the plenum divider down 1/2" and try one final time. Should I file the cut-down plenum divider to a "V" to minimize the turbulence below the throttle body? I see ONE other video on you tube that suggests this.

I’m sure the cut down divider will help with that system. An open spacer would too. As far as the shape, I don’t think it will matter. It’s mostly just equalizing the pressure on each side.

my god finally someone found the correct fix, yes wrapping the torsion spring one more wind will work but not correctly the proper fix like you said, holly tech support said the same thing, to loosen butterfly screws and readjust, glad i saw this video because i was going to wrap the spring one more wind making too much spring pressure against the throttle.

As a machinist for distributors are the most miserable distributor of the changes distributive gear, it's like they put the gear on and then they handed a guy a drill hand drill and said here drove home and shove this pin in it, not like other distributors where they roll pin is properly machine into the shaft and gear precision Lee done!

I'd be very interested in any more Holley Sniper and Sniper 2 videos!! .. The original Sniper is still for sale at many outlets (at least on line) IMO It's not THAT much cheaper than the Sniper 2 .. that makes me think some people like it better. I'd like to know if Holley is still MAKING IT?? ..... Or did they stockpile a bunch for customers who still want the original??? Or is it just old stock lag online resellers have laying around??

What I’ve heard was there were issues with fuel distribution when using a duel plane. Some cylinders ran dangerously lean under hard throttle. I’m pretty sure I heard the guys on Engine Masters make that comment when testing some intakes. It was not a test of the efi unit itself. Without a dyno and o2 sensor for every cylinder it would be difficult to know. Probably drag racers who were good at reading plugs could tell.

My dad and i messed around with this on an Air Gap and a Victor Junior. Dual plane can work pretty well if you run a spacer or hollow out the divider, but you will get a reading on the MAP that jumps around a bit which did cause minor issues at part throttle. In theory you do lose some of the low RPM/load benefits of a dual plane because EFI doesn't need the air velocity to draw fuel out of a carb, which is helped by dividing the barrels. But EFI does keep the benefits of the longer runners.

Spacers almost always improve things. They very rarely have negative side effects. If you have hood clearance for it I say go for it, 100%
