your video is very hard to watch. It is very out of focus so it's hard to see detail.

Hi. Did you ever create the video for the dress in the middle? I'm dealing with a similar style dress. Thanks for all the tips in your videos.

Beautiful! I borrow lace from other areas as well. If the bride has given me enough time, I’ll ask her to contact the bridal shop and have them order a yard of the same fabric or lace. I also have a big bin of extra lace that I’ve collected from previous gowns. One bin for white and another bin for cream. I have tried to dye lace, but lace does not dye well. I’ve also tried bleaching it, and that doesn’t work at all! I find most brides aren’t nearly as picky as I am in matching motifs and all. 40 years of bridal sewing and never had a complaint about the “borrowing” of lace pieces. Lastly, I will search wedding gowns at thrift stores and have a large amount of motifs. I wash the lace of course. Thanks for your wonderful videos!! 😘
How long are the gaps between layers for the snaps? Does the snap side on the Ling get attached against the lining.
@adriennegonzales2636Ай бұрын
I make the thread chain a few inches between the layers for the center snap.

Your videos are da bomb! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I have some questions. I’ve done this bustle a couple times-takes me forever in what I call my pre bustle phase. Do you start at the center back and work to sides or, what’s the best process? Do you bustle each layer separately? You touched on an issue for two of my current brides who want this bustle. Small wedding and then big reception a couple months later. I explained it could be very grimy at the floor edge after her beach ceremony and initial reception. Any suggestions?

How do I remove a slit?
@adriennegonzales26362 ай бұрын
Depends on what style it is! It might be just as "simple" as bringing the edges together but more than likely it'll need some shifting and redraping.

That is a beautiful job, but being chiffon, won't the dress be ruined rubbing on the floor? I am struggling with a chiffon godet on the sides of a fit and flare to raise them just a little. Any suggestions? I am using your method of (french bustle) attaching train to the lining on this dress and it looks much better. The main fabric is a crepe knit, so it has some body. Love your vidoes; always pick up a hint to use each time I watch. Thank you!!

Yes the bottom edge needs to be discussed with the bride. It either will be dirty and worn/torn or it needs to me much higher of a finish to help mitigate that. This particular bride isn't wearing it again for photos and doesn't mind if it's dirty or anything. Some brides do mind and some don't... I go over it very carefully to make sure they understand what to expect so they can change their mind if they want to.

At 18:47 I'm showing how to make the thread loops. The thread is crocheted already. It comes on a roll from Wawak.

It's definitely got a very nice quality feel to the finish! Sometimes details go unseen but this one has good visual pay out on both sides of the dress 🥰

I'm obsessed with your channel ♥️ is it mostly seamstresses here, or bride's? Or bride's mothers?
@adriennegonzales26363 ай бұрын
I get a lot of different people that listen and I just love that! I like to educate anyone who interested in learning about my industry whether they want to become a seamstress or if if they are doing their own... or if they just listen while working. I'm so glad you're here!

You do it exactly like I do too. Do you tell the bride your process? I find if I give them my ideas/process sometimes they look like deer in headlights. I ask if I can color match/design match with lace if necessary. Show them the finished product and they’ve been happy. Most times they can’t find where the original leaves off and my add ons are
@adriennegonzales26364 ай бұрын
Absolutely I tell them the whole process so they can understand what they are paying for and so they can approve any details.

I get the same result by sewing a large basting stitch, easing it, and then sewing right next to it, then pulling out the basting stitch!
