I agree, it’s not the best value. But it makes me happy and sparks some nostalgia for me.

Hi Alan, how was the installation diy? I’m pretty new to this and just got an xterra. I live by the beach and this is going to be my first mod.

It was a little tedious to mount the compressor, but no individual step was too complicated.

I love driving a manual. Just had the vehicle regeared to 4.10 last month and am even happier with it now.

This is just what I've been looking for. I just bought a 2007 Xterra, and i want to try car camping. But I'm not made of money, and i dont want to "lift," "rebuild," or "outfit" my daily driver. This, i can do! So, thanks for that! 😊

How is access to your headlight and running/blinker with this install?
@alanburdette
@alanburdette Ай бұрын
It's not any more difficult than before. In fact, I needed to remove my headlight to pull the airbag out last month and it's just a few bolts.

Excellent upgrades, very clean installation, especially the radio! Are those WeatherTech floor mats? Those are great! I love the driver's seat! I wonder if these are the same seats as those in early 90's JDM Isuzu Troopers/Big Horns Irmscher edition?: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ3Lo2p5d8-IaKssi=PAHvAsQ_TF-Ve7qP

Yes, those are WeatherTech floors mats. Not sure if the school-mann were inspired by those Isuzu seats, but I do see the similarities.

2006 Off-Road owner here. I HIGHLY suggest giving that front condenser/radiator more breathing room-especially if you have an auto-trans with a cooler. Maybe some 3 inch holes in that front plate. Don't know how your summers are but here in Texas...its hooooot.

Thanks for the notes. I have a manual and (so far) my temps have stayed pretty cool, even in the summers.

Nice simple setup. I have a 2010 Off-Road. The passenger seat has a fold flat feature I find useful. I noticed you pulled a lever on the driver’s seat, but I couldn’t see what it did. Can you explain/show more? Thanks
@alanburdette
@alanburdette 8 ай бұрын
The lever on the aftermarket seat allows the back to rotate all the way forward.

nice! my set up is almost the same, but i sleep on the pass side and have gear/ storage on the driver side. i used the action packer type of solution for a while, but i recently built a plywood bed platform, not raised up, its level with the floor, but its smooth and flat and much more comfy for sleeping on.

I've thought about doing that and may someday. Currently, I need to be able to quickly switch between camp mode and family mode. As my kids get older, I may have more options. :)

Seems like a nice and compact option. I’ve been thinking about an Xterra for a bit now. Nice see see how people are using them.
