In the past, I've used various kayaks from white water to touring. I decided to go with an inflatable and own an AEAF tandem kayak, and very pleased with it. It is as advertised. Also, the instructions are clear as to what order and pressures to inflate the chambers. However, I did not get a pump (as shown in the video) with my kayak order. Great video, thanks from the USA.

Would it good for fishing. I’m from the states and I’m looking for a gold inflatable that I can fish from because of college life. I found one for $200 US dollars and it’s never been used.

The only thing stopping me from buying an inflatable, is the thought of it getting destroyed from a hook to the side.

Hey there @phoenixalcyone. Cheers for your question. The one in this video is actually mine. I love it I take my kids out in the Convertible and it's a fantastically compact and versatile kayak. Quite a bit faster than some of my other kayaks that I own too. Sing out if you have any questions at all. Lee @ Kayaks for fishing

I was actually indecisive in choosing between Aqua Marina Tomahawk Air-C 480 3 Person Inflatable Drop-Stitch Kayak Canoe and this one? Which is which?

Ahh too easy! These two are very different types of kayaks to paddle so there are a few differences. The performance of the Convertible will be quite a bit higher. The high sides of the Tomahawk are way more likely to be affected by wind compared to the Convertible. This is why the Tomahawk has a few fins underneith where the Convertible just has a small skeg. The Convertible has a reputation for beaituful on the water performance even in windy or choppy conditions. When it sits in the water those frames in the front and rear kind of turn the boat into a giant rudder to help it track straight (hence why its less affected by wind). The deluxe seating is quite a bit more comfortable too than the ones in the Tomahawk. As of today (17/10/24) the Convertible is on a $430 sale discount too. Sing out if you have more questions I hope this helps :-) Lee @ Kayaks For Fishing

Thank you for doing the comparison between the sport elite and the standard elite. The US website didn't make it have that information on it. How easy is it to zip up the cockpit once inside? For me, trying to shimmy into a tight area while on water seems like a recipe for disaster :)

Great video! I have the standard version of the sport. I'm jealous of the inflatable seat back. I did eventually buy the drop stitch floor and think the different connector was a big mistake. I didn't realize it had the SUP type connector and had to leave it behind on my last outing (first trying to use with the drop stitch floor). I love the larger cockpit as I always have trouble boarding and exiting. And the large bag is appreciated as I don't have trouble fitting the kayak back into it (like with a lot of camping gear). Other than the drop stitch floor connector, my biggest complaint is with the seat. Twice now I've sat ON the seat back, which meant I've had to try adjusting it while in the kayak. Not a fun thing to do, let me tell you! Overall, a very well built kayak that I would gladly buy again, although if I had to do it agian I'd probably upgrade to the standard elite version (not the sport).

Hey there melvinbarnes6652! Cheers for the question. This one has been designed to be user-friendly and easy to paddle. Its hull makes it stable. You wont be racing any sea kayaks for speed but its stable and easy to paddle. Lee @ Kayaks For Fishing

Great vid, question, with the ozito blower, do you have to be careful not over inflate, causing damage? just inflate 3/4?
@KayaksForFishing
@KayaksForFishing 5 ай бұрын
Hey there user-wd1eg2bn7t! No issues there. The Ozito isn't capable of inflating the chambers to pressure so no chance of overinflating. The job of the Ozito is just to fill the chambers for you and reduce the setup time even more. Of course this means that you will need to use the double action hand pump provided to bring the chambers up to pressure and to get you on the water. Sing out if you have any other questions. Happy to help. Kayaks for Fishing.

@KayaksForFishing
@KayaksForFishing 5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for mentioning vetteazul5114! It depends whether you are using an electric pump similar to the one I use in the video but even without that, you can expect a setup time of between maybe 8 to 10 minutes. You will of course get faster with practice too. Sing out if you have any questions. Lee @ Kayaks For Fishing

I just purchased this kayak because of the big cockpit for fishing. Without the extra flooring and using a backbone will it be hard enough and can I reach the webbing on the top to store a small tackle canister?
@KayaksForFishing
@KayaksForFishing 5 ай бұрын
Hey there Terry, not sure about this one as you are using the soft floor version with the backbone. The dropstitch floor version seen in the video is a bit more rigid than the back bone version but will be fine for what you need by the sounds. Reaching the deck bungee up front is easy peasy too 🙂. Sing out if you have any other questions, happy to help. Lee
@restonthewind
@restonthewind 4 ай бұрын
I use the soft floor with a backbone. If you install the backbone correctly and inflate the floor to 1 psi, you won't feel the backbone under the floor. Reaching the front of the boat is no problem, but you may need to scoot forward a bit depending on how far forward you position the seat. It's adjustable. The backbone makes a significant difference in tracking, but if you're fishing, you may not need it.

Hi there great video, quick question, any problems or cons now after a month of use ? is the speed consistent and also the battery ? Im between buying this to save some money compared to the popular Bixpy K1.. what do you think ?
@KayaksForFishing
@KayaksForFishing 6 ай бұрын
Hey there RS1925. Definitely recommend. No cons after having this one for a while. We started stocking this one as an alternative to the Bixpy to offer a lower cost option and I cant fault it. The speed is consistent. I have read that others can have issues with paring a second battery to the remote but I haven't had any issues and I haven't had any customers that have reported issues. The cost difference between this one and the K1 is significant all-be-it that the battery on the standard package does last a little bit longer. Cheers for the comment. Lee @ Kayaks for Fishing

Great Video. Thanks. Do you have instructional video for model AE1007 ( Advanced Frame Convertible ) with optional drop-stich Floor installation ?
@KayaksForFishing
@KayaksForFishing 8 ай бұрын
Hey there @mariobie, cheers for commenting! No my apologies the soft floor version of the convertible isn't available anymore. It has been superseded by the drop stitch version. The rigidity it provides makes for fantastic speed and tracking. If you are chasing the soft floor version, the upgrade to the drop-stitch model is money well spent. Cheers again for your comment. Thank you for explanation. Does the DSF is fixed at the bottom of the kayak, or did you preinstall it before the video? This new seat looks amazing, but not sell as individual part (for upgrading), unfortunately?
@KayaksForFishing
@KayaksForFishing 8 ай бұрын
Hey there @jmparis83! Yes the drop stitch floor isn't attached in the Convertible Elite. If you do happen to get a bit of water in there, it makes cleaning a breeze. The seats ARE amazing! They are for sale as separate items too, at least here in Australia. They a currently retail for around $150 each. I hope this helps. Cheers again for commenting. Lee @ Kayaks For Fishing
