This video worked great for me. I'm picking up planes 70+ miles around me, which probably isn't great, but since my place is backed up against a forest with low LOS I'd say its pretty good.

t-post driver is well worth the money if you are driving them into the ground.

That metal is tough crap.

The work piece is moving too much, each turn of each flute causes small bounces. The drill press is the place for it. It is funny, the fame rate and rotation speed make it look like the drill was turning backwards....

I caught your jump on YT a week or so ago when I saw you fully demo the directional characteristic's of an EFHW. I think you gathered a whopping 4 contacts! I was so thrilled to see this. Some of what you are experiencing and showing is fully what many of us are seeing and experiencing at terrestrial levels, but many do not believe that their wire is as directional as some of us claim or see. While many times it is observed that it may not matter to orientation of our antennas, the signal still seems to land wherever it desires or the atmosphere dictates. There is also very much truth in orientation as well. N-S will induce a different pattern to that of a E-W orientation. These are not omni-directional antennas. I was entertained to see that even at such high altitudes that you gain vs, us earthlings, you still do not gain anything close to an -omni-directional antenna. I am curious to know if you have tried a weighted EF, in a more vertical position, and how it performs. I of course have all sorts of extra Q's to go with that if so. I live in an area great for jumping, not so much for making contacts, at least on VHF. I usually end up with Hang-glider traffic or other aeronautical traffic, but never a jumper. That was really cool to get a visual of your descent by direction, height, rate of fall etc Carlos. Amazing what you do pal, I think my CQ calls are already nervous enough sounding haha. I like my feet firmly planted ;)

I had a problem of the frequencies on A and B band changing in different directions and the volumes going up and down. I called tech-support and they told me I had to buy the Yaesu shielded cable to go from the head to the brick. It fixed the problem. I was using another cable from I believe ICOM or it might’ve just been a cat 6 cable I was using.

On the radios bottom of main screen where power is I see DT-G for the digital tone gain. Is there a normal setting for that? I am set just above the 7 of signal strength meter. I believe that correlates to 35 on mic gain setting. It works well, But I could not find any info on the best settting. Thanks for good video and any help N6ZKI
