Ma Long was born Oct. 20, 1988, so he was probably just 16 years old here. It would be several more years before he became number 1.

柳承敏一路落后，看似总是处于下风，结果却一路挨到最后成功翻盘。奥运冠军不是白来的，这种心理素质，及时调整战术球商高，耐力强。胆大心细技术不全面，反手进攻不好但是防守很好。虽然反手丢了很多球，但是连续防了好些板大力的拉高球。足见功力深厚。但是如果23岁的柳承敏碰到的是23岁的马龙那时候马龙技术成熟，估计马龙赢面大。

不過柳成敏打法必須有高效體能訓練，不然其打法好容易被打破。

@@jackylau1393单面直拍就是这种特点。巅峰时间天下无敌，但是持续时间极短。几乎都是昙花一现。但是这就够了。。千千万万的乒乓球运动员打了一辈子也无出头之日。。。所以柳承敏经常在各种比赛输给很一般的选手。但是一旦爆发就谁都挡不住。还有一点就是柳承敏的运气了，正好在2004年奥运会爆发。

his opponent is playing in China super league. but Jiang Haiyang is not seen playing in China's national team or super league. I doubt he is still playing

those days as you can see here Ma Long didn't use the backhand flick to receive serves, pushing the ball gives Ryu to attack results in opportunity to lose points Nowadays backhand flick is used to attack the serves.

@@TheRafaelBond Considering how conventional his style is 16 is not too young by Chinese standards.Wang Hao pretty much paved the way to current TT his backhand style. Ma Long didn't develop a single technique for the shakehand style.Zero innovation-zlich.

Sean, No, he did not! The Olympics gold is about the only thing he won through 1 million international tournaments. Ryu Seung Min's gold medal victory was his lone triumph over Wang Hao in 10+ encounters. Credit Ryu for winning the big one but overall, he sure was more like a failed TT player at the international stage.

@@seekthetruths22 I am not comparing Ryu to an arbitrary TT professional and of course not myself. Is it fair to compare yourself to Ma Long or Waldner? My comment was about Ryu dominated TT or not in which he lost an overwhelming majority of his competitions. If the theme of this argument is dominating or not, Ryu lost almost every single prestigious tournament in his career. Wouldn't that describe Ryu as the opposite of a dominating player?
