When I was a kid there used to be three generations in a household that's how they afford it today it is one or two people in the house there would be one car for the household now there's a car for each driver it would be one telephone one TV now everybody has a phone and there's a TV in every room and tablets the young people today need to learn what a minimalist is

He’s talking about the leftover money after you pay your expenses. I work with a bunch of dudes who make 90-120k a year, and are broke. It’s not a marker of the economy, it’s a marker of they rack up the credit card debt, they get new trucks every 3 years, and get their wife a new car every 2 years and get their kids a car on credit, and buy too much house and buy every nick nack and trinket they can “handle” the payments on. After the government eats them alive with 6 layers of tax, then the finance companies eat up what’s left. One of those they can’t control. The other they can.

it wont work on current peasant wages, forget investment, they barely can rent a house to life in, some even have to budget their food

Poor people spend there money and invest what’s left cos they need the shit they buy for the most part. Also, it ABSOLUTELY makes a difference the amount of money you’re investing over the philosophy. Some person paying for everything for kids/house investing whatever he has left is obviously different to someone able to invest 2000 a month after spending. If the person stating this doesn’t know that he’s not worth listening to or a grifter.
