I have beat the game a few days ago for the first time. I started to play online and immediately turned of other player's signs as they were just huge spoilers. It would show where BTs are located and other stuff. It is ruining the game and the sencse of adventure, imo. So I immediately turned those sings off and also turned off the vision of the players structures on the map, they were still visible in the game, but I wouldn't predict them, so it was ok to get an unexpected help from someone

To be fair. Control has unbridled gameplay. Jesse has telekinetic powers, so physics were vitally important. In Alan Wake 2, the gameplay is much heavier given the detective and horror atmosphere; They give more importance to the sound and visual atmosphere and not so much to the physical ones. It is not about surpassing a past game in everything, but about enhancing what the game needs. I wouldn't be surprised if Control 2 has the same graphic level as Alan Wake 2, with some decays, but the physics are much superior to the first game.

@fashnek Жыл бұрын
Not really, obviously there have already been a collective trillion resources already spent by players, probably millions just in the last month. Each person's game decides how many resources to give from "other porters" -- for example a couple of "early" roads will be fully built as soon as you add Engineer/Craftsman to the network. The others will have 0 progress until you add the area to the network first, whereupon you will find that about 75% of the resources will already be provided and the game will leave the last 25% for you to complete. And whenever a piece of the road gets down to like 35%, magically a whole bunch of people will "contribute resources" and restore it back to 100%.

Am I the only one who would like to see Death Stranding 2 in co-op mode so you can play with 1-4 friends plus having this online world active as it was in the first game? That would make the game so much more enjoyable than even the boss fights would feel much more interesting, and to be able to split tasks between your friends, attack bases in multiple ways, and plan complete strategies would be insane!
@fashnek Жыл бұрын
That simply was not the point, the point was that even for people who play games in isolation and feel stranded from society, we are not really alone and our individual lives can be connected in small ways. There's a literal million more traditional multiplayer games out there.
@krisproaffiliate Жыл бұрын
@@fashnek I get the point, I am just saying that because of that point many people didn't really enjoy the game because it felt so empty, and lonely. Since you can't really see other players or interact with them. Plus adding the option in setting to enable the co-op can be like added setting it doesn't need to ruin the game experience for those that want to play the game as intended. But for me these big open world AAA games would all feel much more alive if you could play them with friends. Because let's be honest if you can have a generic/bot companion that are most of the time useless and just a hindrance to your playstyle. It's possible to add a co-op friend. Like Far Cry games did or Tom Clancy Ghost Recon games.

@@krisproaffiliate Fortunately, Kojima doesn't make asinine games like those Ubisoft turds. It isn't meant to be a coop game at all, and if people feel a bit lonely while playing, that's the entire point. The good thing with strongly involved game directors is that they never listen to their "fan-base" as they would rather make original games instead of the usual slop some players want to play.
@MistaXFacta Жыл бұрын
This game does a fantastic job of showing off how a community can make life so much easier. Kojima's always been one of those artsy fartsy dudes who wants his games to feel like more than just a game, and I think this was his most effective piece in that regard. It's weird to me that people don't have fun with this game because they didn't die every ten seconds on the highest difficulty, or whatever. It's a fun game that makes you feel like an effective member of a community, where quality of life gets better as you contribute more to something greater. Both offline and online play are valid, I just think that people get scared to face up to the message this game tries to get across: Everything can be better if you connect with your community.
@highcontrast4488 Жыл бұрын
I loved this game for the first 30 hours of play, then I accidentally turned on the online mode and the disinterest to continue playing started. I was more concerned with helping to complete the road linking each area and doing side quests in the process, then I lost all interest in continuing to play the main quest, plus the online mode made the game easy to play as it includes the "help" from the other players. I guess I'm going to start a new game in offline mode from start to finish.
@fashnek Жыл бұрын
God forbid you pursue the things that interest you. Obviously the roads and helping other players scratched an itch you didn't realize you had. Trying to simply "get through a game" is so counterproductive, once games just get treated like checklist items we have built our own prison

The game is very forgiving on every difficulty level. It is designed to be very very low-stakes with forgiving mission objectives, frequent autosave points, and essentially no death penalty. Many people start out on Very Hard. Some people do all deliveries on Very Hard and turn it to much easier settings for certain non-delivery story portions. I can almost guarantee that by the time you get to the end of the game, you will want to earn some "LLL" ratings, which are only possible on Very Hard, and you might wish that you had always been getting those "LLL" instead of having to redo various orders.

I understand why many people would find it boring. Specially those who play game just for the gameplay and exhilirating action like ARPGs or Souls-like) . No care about the world-building or philosophy behind something, just straight-up entertainment. But for those who play and see games as a form of art and value every aspects of it like the gameplay, music, lore, story, and the philosophy of certain aspects of it etc. Then such people would like it.
