好美呀。 我們也是下年二月去Norway/Finland 33天呀. 你們很多地方我們也是會去的. 我們自己plan 很了久 including: 2 1/2 weeks rental car (3 days in Tromso, 1 week in Lofoten Island, 1 week in Rovaniemi), number of activities e.g. 2 x dog sledding (one in Tromso, one in Rovaniemi), 2 x reindeer sledding (Tromso & Rovaniemi) , 2 x snowmobiling (1 x daytime, 1 x night chasing northern lights), 2 x northern lights 6 pax. mini car tour, 5 x fjord half day trip cruise (Bergen, Flam, Oslo, Tromso & Lofoten Island) , 1 x Kemi ice breaker cruise, 1 x horse riding in snow, 1 x skiing, 4 nights glass igloo (2N x Tromso, 2N Rovaniemi), cable car x 2 (in Bergen, Tromso), snowshoeing hike x 1, Amethyst Mine snow train/hike x 1, train/bus/overnight ferry/overnight train and few more things, I forgot. 我們今年三月已訂了95% (so we booked almost 1 year in advance) In total, including 2 x business class return trip to Australia, we paid around AUD25,000 in total (大概540,000 TWD), of course excluding most of the lunch/dinner 比你這個 trip。。。
The secret of it is to book和plan得超早呀. We did thought of doing by tour but we love the freedom, so we would DIY. We planned ALL the 33 days itinerary for 1 month almost everyday in Feb this year to make it as perfect as possible and we would email to hotels/resort/activities for some questions, tips etc. =P. The most we look forward for the places (as in order) are: Lofoten Island, Trosmo, Rovaniemi, Bergen, Helsinki and Oslo
@@LiveMyBetterLife 我明白規劃自助旅行辛苦的感覺呀 以前沒有Internet就是難﹐要靠magazine或travel agent 但是﹐現在有KZbin, Blog, Google Map, Instagram etc 真的方便很多 and you get to decide if it is worth to go. 其實﹐第一就是要看熟習這個都市。。。比如 Oslo 或 Helsinki, study and play around the area via Google Map like you would in your hometown Taipei. Every city has a 'central' area. Then narrow it down to small cities e.g. Rovaniemi. Then go to hotel websites like booking, agoda etc and search in "Rovaniemi train central station", that way, it will list the CLOSEST station that you are staying in as your main 'hub' Then look for the tours in 'that' area, for example, in google, search for "Trosmo travel agent", "Rovaniemi travel agent" and you will see there are quite lots of them When you play around with Google Map and see the place/attraction is very nice, I just copy and paste the place in "place" TO "place", then check the distance to see how far they are from the place you are staying and/or whether it is convenient to go there by car or transport. Sometimes I go "wow, 是這麼近的?", so I put it on my itinerary. Also, I often go to places that 'locals' (本地人) go because often they are 'secret' places that not many people know. Once people know, it is usually exposed on social media. For example, about 11 years ago, I used to go to a very beautiful little town called Hallstatt in Austria and back then, there was almost NO people and not many people know it and it was so...... beautiful with the landscape and snow etc. The 2nd time I went a few years ago, it was not the same anymore. Sure the views are the same, but the massive tourism kinda killed the atmosphere. So thanks to Instagram, lol.... The best is probably to stay 'overnight' so that night time is more quieter Anyways, to cut it short, I think you made a very good choice going in Feb too and the reason why chose Feb (even we want to go in Dec as Xmas feel) is because it consist balance of winter season with northern light AND day light so we can do some activities averaging about 8 hours sunlights per day whereas in Dec is literally darkness all times Personally, overall, I feel self tour probably is the best as you get to choose the 'hotel', resort, activities you want rather than 'the package' choosing you though I understand you get the convenience doing everything for you. So we get to experience a of everything including igloo, holiday lodge resort, rental car, overnight cruise, overnight ferry, bus, overnight bus (from Tromso to Rovaniemi rather than flight), overnight train sleeping cabin (from Rovaniemi to Helsinki), rental car, etc So I recommend maybe try a little next time doing yourself in a more easier place such as...Switzerland, they really do not need tour as transportation is extremely convenient and punctual like in Taiwan. But Germany is terrible though as they often are not on time and would have few 'strikes'. And then look at the activities you want to do and go from there. In fact they have a tourist Swiss Pass and often , they are included OR 50% discount. Doing some reasarch is also important, for example for glass igloo, the most famous instagram we see for Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. However, when I did research, based on the reviews, I found that they are extremely expensive, overrated, old style etc. So I just searched "list of glass igloo in Finland/Norway" in Google and I found out that there are probably around 60 of them and sooooooo many to choose from. I eventually chose one that is newly opened less than a year for like AU400 per night (approx 8500TWD). It has 10 glass igloo in the resort and EVERY of them has a 'private sauna' outside your cabin in which I never really saw in others since you may need to share 1 or 2 in sharing with public. Also, another one we look forward is the 'glamping glass dome' in Lofoten Island in Norway. Again this is something that is quite new and what I call a 'hidden gem' , so that is why research is important as it can create a very very memorable trip! Also the good thing about booking by self tour, when you book hotels/car/activities, most lets you cancel up to 1 day BEFORE it starts, there are few stays that lets me cancel 1 month before. There was one stay in Lofoten Island that I really loved which I eventually cancelled one and booked the other for a better preference about 2 weeks ago (because sometimes they pop up new listings﹐ so sometimes, I check from time to time). So overall, it is fun to DIY, so another tip is if you plan to go somewhere next time, plan as early as possible rather than the standard '6 months' or '4 months' because it gives you more choices AND flexibility to change one or the other. Sorry for the long message and hope this also helps! Feel free to let me know for any other questions guys =)

@@the-matrix1111 Can’t agree with you more. To achieve an efficient, safe and memorable self travel, all the things including accomadation, traffic, and spotsights matter. I had ever traveled in Europe for one month with printing maps, without Wifi, that’s crazy from today’s point of view ha. Thanks for sharing your story and experiences. I’m curious about where are you from and live now?
