Live versions of this song were so damn good 2:20 the guitar goes back on the initial riff while Ian starts going more intense, different from the record but so much better

I would say they weren't ahead of their time. it's clearly a reaction to how the world was back then and the events current st the time. However, the song is timeless and impressive up to this day and age.
