Yes, can darken leather especially lighter colours like tan

In this case, the boots are made using a fatty leather (saturated with oils). When these oils come up to the surface, they create a hazy deposit and the show looks lighter. If the shoe dries out, it will also tend to look lighter. Adding oil to a leather will typically darken it.

So great to see our favourite home brand sweaters so well reviewed, Inis Meáin (well pronounced btw) is the best authentic Irish knitwear for sure, any American tourists watching please treat yourself to one of these instead of the 2-3 of the cheaper ones aimed at your hard earned dollars when you visit Kerry. This is what we Irish wear , they last and age beautifully.
