I’m sorry, but while this attempt at an explanation is quite popular/famous (other versions use Angelina Jolie or Margaret Thatcher as the person crossing the room) it actually explains nothing (or, more accurately to the extent it explains anything it’s wrong -or at least terribly misleading).
