It’s a talk box. His guitar sound is going through the tube, and he shapes it with his mouth into the microphone.

RIP Mr. Brad Delp. He may have avoided the highest notes on tour to save his voice, but at least he actually had some stage presence. This guy sucks. At least Tom is still there. But even so you can't really call this Boston. A musical genius like Tom should be playing in front of a crowd twice this size. Please, Tom, work on something new. Don't cover the original stuff with new people who just don't match you or Brad.

Tom Scholz is a musical genius, no doubt. But he also is an inventor. Had some brilliant musical inventions still used today.

@dougbodenhamer9391 said, "But he [Scholz] also is an inventor. Had some brilliant musical inventions still used today." What specific inventions are you referring to? The Rockman is rarely used anymore and if someone wanted to get a Rockman sound there are multiple models and software packs that can do everything the Rockman could do and more

So,... lets put the stage as close to a freeway as possible for maximum car noise.... who is the moron who did this?

Tom. One step up because he started Boston with reel to reel tape. Gary. Step up because he has been around Scholz longer than Hagar. Tom. Living in own bubble with veal crates.
@neechee51505 ай бұрын
What do you mean reel to reel tape? It is well known that Tom used a Sculley 12 track one inch tape machine for all of the instrument tracks that he recorded for the debut record
@bobgomez94815 ай бұрын
@@neechee5150 - Hmm. Let's see. Even the impressive "Sculley 12 track" you speak of has these impressive traits - a reel on the left and a reel on the right - hence "reel to reel" tape machine, as was everything up until the age of digital, DATS and such... So yeah, reel to reel tape...

I saw Boston twice with Brad and Fran Cosmo (Walk On tour) and it was much better than this. This vocalist just does not do it for me, sorry. The power in the vocals and stage presence just is not there, and they didn’t need any female to cover any vocal or guitar parts. More Than A Feeling is not good here. This is just a shadow of what Boston used to be. I think it is time to call it quits Tom.
@Journxy273 жыл бұрын
Brad could never hit those notes live either, go back and watch live performances of more than a feeling. Also, the Walk On tour sounded really good because Brad had Fran to fall back on and rest his voice. Tom does not need to hang anything up, I’m eagerly waiting for the announcement of the next tour.
@mrlionel19653 жыл бұрын
@@Journxy27 I will respectfully disagree here. Big fan, but its time. My comments stand. Brad clearly couldn't do it quite as good in the years before he passed away, but his level was still far far higher than anything anyone now could ever do. This is NOT Boston. It is Tom Scholz and the music of Boston.
