What transfer case are you using? And what transmission?

@@brudevold62 hello I'm using the stock auto ls400 transmission 4 speed a341e aka 30-41le i believe, 91 model with the RF1A Transfer case (gear driven) from the early 22re manual transmission, gotta make sure the transfer case has the shifter coming out of it directly. northwesttoys sells adapter for this transfer case. personnally this is the cheap way to get the strongest drivetrain ! Edit:btw if you go this route all you have to do is get the angle grinder out and trim the output shaft i think it was 2.5 inchs double check if anyone reads this

@@tyeo1516 Thanks for the info. Somewhere down the road I'd love to this swap as a previous owner of a 2nd gen 4runner. Your swap sounds like the easiest most reliable way to 4wd a 1uz. I was just curious im not sure if anyone has attempted the multimode transfer case swap( even though its chain driven). An AWD 1uz 4runner sounds like a good time. But again your setup sounds like a great one great job on the build and swap.

Yota Gang didnt have a front driveline and if you know 1uz's at all youd know that motor aint gonna blow. they redline well over 10k rpm and they areclimited to 6,500 and weve had it on the limitor out doing a honda for over 2 minutes straight at a car show.

no build thread on it we used a custom bell housing ordered off the internet the rest of the mounts were custom built and the motor and tranny were moved 2 inches back. wiring was done with the lexuz cars wiring harness and spliced into the 4runners 3.0 wiring harness.

With duals, never hold the clutch in and coast while in gear... your clutch will start spinning upwards of 20k rpms... sure way to break something..

Kevin Johnson I have no issue with your rigs. To tell someone to spin their tires to heat them up to crawl up a wet rock is a sure way to snap an axle, ring gear or driveline. And the guy at the end crawled up that rock beautifully with out "heating em up"!
