Thanks! I haven't played this on the switch but I know a lot of stuff doesn't work. I doubt this would work. I think most people run any% selected restrictions on switch, which is basically glitchless

Just one more thing: I love Super Pang (best game of the franchise, imo), and I played in arcade mode for years but I never thought of that strategy at 18:35...superbe!

@@deadbydawn745 there are many categories, including 100%, which are no out of bounds (No OOB or NOOB) Those still use some glitches but no crazy stuff. With no glitches at all, in Ori and the blind forest there's only 1 category, any% selected restrictions.

@@TRazielT No glitchless 100%? Then imma check out a NOOB run. Is there also a category that doesn't make use of Dash? Because from what I've heard, that's an ability you can only find in the Definitive Edition.

There are a couple of categories that don't use dash but those are usually very short categories like any% unrestricted onelife (kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2ikqaurecSZrac&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.speedrun.com%2F&source_ve_path=MjM4NTE&feature=emb_title) because otherwise dash will always be worth getting. The most played category is all skills NOOB. But check any% glitchless if you're interested in glitchless runs. It's quite nice also.

Energy orbs that were put into a gate are temporarily used up. Gaining a level up recovers all empty energy and life, so they gain another set of orbs to put into the gate while the previous orbs are still inside it. Here they prepare with enough XP that a single kill leads to a level up and drag that mob all they way to the door to kill it after using the first set of orbs.

That feeling of beating the game for the first time... That was awesome... :) But yeah, charge dashes are faaaaast

I also didnt learn about charge dash on my first playthrough. I kept wondering why I was glowing when I pressed a certain button. Then when I got that super jump ability, I thought that it was meant for super jump when I got it. Then I go and charge dash into an enemy by accident in the opposite direction I wanted to go in and die. And then I thought "What was that." I diddled with the controls for a while and then I reread the charge dash ability in the ability tree and then it all clicked. But then it took me even longer to figure out that you can charge dash multiple times. Great game.

That orb follows you around. That's an actual game mechanic. Nothing fancy going on there

@@veljkojankovic3718 The double bashing can be done if you press bash again 1 frame after releasing the first bash. And basically you get the effect you see there, instead of the projectile or enemy going one direction and ori the other you can manipulate both.

@@veljkojankovic3718we call that a rocket jump. This is actually pretty easy to do. it's just dash+charge jump+jump at the same time. You can bind it to a single key. Then as long as you have an enemy above you, you get that effect. Pretty neat. If you would want to learn more or start speedrunning join the community discord :)

Hey. It's actually pretty easy since you can just bind everything to a single key. But the idea is that you need to charge dash and immediately cancel it with a jump towards an enemy which is above you. To do that you should press charge jump + dash + jump at the same time

Thats no glitch

It's the level up. The wave from it destroys both sides. So if you have a good XP and level up at the right time you can skip the right side

Hey! We call that trick door warp. Basically, when loading the game, if you enter a door on the first frame the game loads Ori is teleported (don't ask me why it works like that). This works in most doors in the game. In the case of Mount Horu, door warp conveniently teleports Ori to the last room, just before the final escape.

That's a rocket jump. It's a charge dash + jump. And if the enemy it's above or below you it just throws ori like that. It's pretty cool ;) we have a lot of nice speedrun tech :)

Oh. That's a very intended piece of speedrun tech from the developers. We call it charge dash cancel chain. Basically it's a charge dash followed by a stomp to cancel the charge dash, followed by a jump to cancel the stomp, followed by another charge dash. With triple jump this can be done 3 times :) charge dash is amazing for speedrunning and probably one of the most fun movement I have ever experienced in any game

Using this, in a proper time frame, will also save the energy, which is why you can see the energy being returned. Charge dashes into bash also save energy

We have some devs close to the community and when ori was released, and with the definitive edition there were some changes done, some to fix some bugs others actually intentionally for speedrunning purposes. Still, I don't think the devs ever intended for the game to be broken like this by speedrunners. Not that it is the case on this run, but on others.

It definitely does. And many ways to break the game also. I dont speedrun it though

We call it a grenade jump. It's a complex movement but basically after charging the wall charge jump, you need to press grenade followed by jump in the next frame, and you get that effect
